In the town center, there is a roundabout with a golden statue of two elderly figures holding walking sticks. I believe this statue represents Mr. Takaew and his wife. Around the roundabout, there are evening food stalls selling Khanom Jeen (fermented rice noodles), desserts, and grilled dishes. This area is the liveliest part of the town, though still not very crowded. Next to the roundabout is the Takaew Market. In front of the market, there are curry rice stalls open from early morning until noon.

I have tasted delicious food at every restaurant here. Starting with the Khanom Jeen shops unique to Takaew. What’s special here is that they use finely shredded lotus stems as a side dish to accompany the local Khanom Jeen with fish curry. The place I ate at is in front of the market near a barbershop parking area called Soriya. It was delicious and had a queue of customers. The fish curry for Khanom Jeen in Takaew tends to be slightly sweet. I also like how they serve Khanom Jeen on banana leaves, which looks natural and appetizing. Next to the Khanom Jeen shop, there is a dessert shop as well.
They serve a kind of large lotus seed dumpling in shaved ice, which is sweet, fragrant, and refreshing. The seller is a young woman from Takaew Province. She speaks some Thai but does not speak it much, so please do not assume no one understands Thai in Khmer areas. Every town usually has people who can speak Thai. I warn you to avoid problems later. In that area, there are also late-night grilled food stalls, including steamed eggs. mr.hotsia August 2012. mr.hotsia recommends hotels in Takaew Province. Khanom Jeen in Takaew.
