Backpacking India 112/129: Tinsukia Street View, Tinsukia City, Assam State, India

I, mr.hotsia, recently had the chance to travel to Tinsukia in Assam, Northeast India. This city may not be as widely known as Bengaluru or Mumbai, but for those who enjoy exploring the lifestyle and realities of India on foot with attention to detail, Tinsukia is a very interesting small corner.

Tinsukia is located in Assam, which is famous for its rich natural environment and strong indigenous culture. The city has diverse ethnic groups and a variety of spoken languages. I wandered along the main street calledTinsukia Streetwhich is full of vibrant life and the typical hustle and bustle of India. Small shops sell local products such as high-quality Assam tea and local food that perfectly blends North Indian and Northeast Indian cultures.

While walking on the street, it was crowded with people queuing for buses, auto-rickshaws, and local taxis. The atmosphere was like a fresh market with vendors calling out and the scent of spices drifting from roadside food stalls. I tried street food, a chicken curry with local spices, which was spicy and flavorful enough to make me ask for an extra plate of rice.

One thing I, mr.hotsia, really liked about Tinsukia is the simplicity of life here. It is not as rushed as the big cities I have traveled to such asBengaluruorMumbaiwhich are very modern and hectic. Tinsukia is a city that still preserves its naturalness and close community ties well.

Additionally, I visited a local market that is a hub for fresh ingredients and traditional handicrafts. This market gave a true picture of Assamese life, whether it was traditional patterned sarongs or jewelry made from natural materials. I felt like I was touching the long-standing history and culture passed down by the locals.

For traveling to Tinsukia, I chose to use local buses, which is the best way to experience the surroundings and talk with locals. Traveling in Assam may not be as comfortable as in big cities, but it allowed me to see the true life of the people and the beautiful landscapes of this city.

If anyone is interested in exploring North and Northeast India in depth, try opening your heart to visit Tinsukia. This city is like a small door that leads us into a new world of culture and nature that many may never have known. I, mr.hotsia, plan to return to Assam to capture more images and stories from many hidden towns in this region.

For those interested in travel stories in North India and nearby areas, don't forget to readTraveling Namchiwhich I recently wrote about. Namchi is another city that blends culture and nature perfectly, just like Tinsukia where I recently visited.

In this trip, I also made a videoBackpacking India 112/129: Tinsukia Street View, Tinsukia City, Assam State, Indiato watch. It shows real scenes from the main street of this city. For anyone who wants to see the life of Tinsukia people clearly, I highly recommend it.

Finally, I, mr.hotsia, want to leave this message: India is not only about big cities or famous tourist spots, but there are also small corners like Tinsukia waiting for us to discover and deeply learn the real life of the people here. For those ready to open their hearts and spend time walking, tasting, and talking with locals, India will have countless stories waiting for you to experience endlessly.
