Bengaluru, a vibrant and green technology city in India
When talking about the heart of technology in India, the nameBengalurudefinitely comes to mind first for me. The first time mr.hotsia arrived in Bengaluru, the initial feeling was, “This is the difference of a major city in India” — not just smoke, dust, and chaos, but a city that has developed rapidly, full of life, and lush with large trees lining the streets, so much so that you hardly need an umbrella to walk under the strong summer sun.
Bengaluru is located on the Deccan Plateau, about 3,000 feet (914.4 meters) above sea level, giving it a cooler and more comfortable climate than many other Indian cities. It is also the largest city in Karnataka state and the third most populous in the country. The modernity and blend of technology with traditional lifestyles give this city a unique charm that I, mr.hotsia, want to share with everyone.
Strolling in Bengaluru: Large Trees and a Relaxed Atmosphere
I clearly remember walking along the streets of this city. The shade from various large trees lining both sides of the road is what makes Bengaluru different from many other big cities in India. These tall trees are not just decorative but part of daily life here. Along the way, I saw people of all ages resting, reading, or chatting under the shade. The care given to parks and trees here is very attentive, making you feel that this city has a good quality of life.
Although I intended to visitthe technology district and India’s Silicon Valley,I must admit that strolling through the city center and tasting local food in Bengaluru was a more impressive experience. I chose to eat authentic Indian chicken biryani at a small shop in an alley, where the flavor and spices were intense and heartfelt, like a warm welcome from the local people here.
Life in Bengaluru: Modernity Blended with Traditional Culture
Bengaluru is not only about technology and cleanliness but also full of diverse cultures. I had the chance to talk with many locals, including IT workers and market vendors. They are proud of their city and spoke about the rapid changes over the past 10-20 years.
The markets in Bengaluru are another place I, mr.hotsia, highly recommend for those who enjoy lively atmospheres and want to experience real local life. These markets are full of a variety of goods, including fresh vegetables, fruits, spices, and local fresh food. Walking through the markets, I saw smiles and friendliness from the people, and it was also an opportunity to try local dishes up close. Importantly, prices are very affordable for backpackers like me.
Getting Around Bengaluru: Convenient and Worth Trying
Bengaluru has a developed and convenient public transportation system. I chose to use tuk-tuks, a popular mode of transport in India. Besides being easy and fast, it was an opportunity to chat with drivers who shared various stories about the city. Riding a tuk-tuk through tree-lined streets and bustling with people made me feel closer to the real life of Bengaluru.
For those wanting a special experience, I recommend visiting parks or small tourist spots around the city, such as Cubbon Park with its large trees and peaceful atmosphere, or stopping by charming street food stalls.
Connecting Indian Experiences: From Bengaluru to Other Cities
Bengaluru is a great starting point for exploring India in depth, as it is easy to travel from here to other interesting cities such as Mumbai, with its ports and historical stories, or Chennai, a center of culture and industry. Additionally, I have compiled other travel experiences in India in my articles.Backpacking MumbaiandBackpacking Chennai, Indiafor those interested to read and prepare fully for their trips.
