Bengaluru Fried Chicken: A Must-Try Delight in India's Technology Metropolis
When talking aboutBengaluruor as some still commonly call it Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka state, known as the “Silicon Valley of India.” Quality of life and modernity seem to be the main things most people remember. But the angle I, mr.hotsia, want to share today is about “fried chicken,” a street food loved by locals and travelers like me just as much as technology.
Bengaluru is located on the Deccan Plateau about 900 meters above sea level, giving the city a cool and comfortable climate almost all year round. Although it is in India, a country many associate with intense heat and chaos, this city is full of large trees and lush parks providing shade. Walking around the city hardly requires an umbrella. I, mr.hotsia, really appreciate the cleanliness and greenery of Bengaluru, which is very different from the big city images of India I have seen before.
Discover Bengaluru Fried Chicken: A Unique Flavor You Must Try
I traveled to Bengaluru with the intention to explore the IT hubs, but in reality, this trip turned more into a food journey. Traveling to the tech zones far from downtown requires a local guide, which I didn’t have the chance to experience yet. So this time, I focused on eating chicken biryani and fried chicken from street vendors in the city center instead.
Bengaluru fried chicken is not like the fried chicken at home or even in other Indian cities. It is boldly flavored with authentic Indian spices blending various seasonings such as turmeric, chili powder, and garam masala. The taste I encountered every time was crispy outside, tender inside, fragrant with spices, and not greasy even though fried in reused oil. The places I stopped by were usually small roadside stalls frequented by locals, a real-life scene I prefer over big restaurants.
Besides fried chicken, Bengaluru also offers chicken biryani with a rich and aromatic special spice flavor. I tried it at local eateries, and it perfectly complemented the meal. If you watch my video inEating Indian Fried Chicken and Authentic Indian Chicken Biryani in Bengaluruyou will see the charm and sincerity of dining at small roadside stalls.
Lifestyle and Market Atmosphere in Bengaluru
Apart from food, Bengaluru is also a city I enjoy exploring fresh markets and night bazaars. Most locals buy fresh ingredients from the morning markets, and street food stalls open from morning till night. The markets are full of colorful vegetables, fruits, fresh spices, and South Indian snacks like dosa, idli, as well as local sweets.
Walking through Bengaluru’s markets reminded me of the simplicity and diversity of people’s lives. Even though the city is large and modern, warmth and friendliness remain. I could ask for directions or recommendations for delicious food from vendors without hesitation. Market walks enrich the experience and help understand the local way of life more clearly.
