Standing and Eating on the Walking Street in India, Bengaluru, India
Bengaluru, also known as Bangalore, the capital city of Karnataka state, is one of the cities that mr.hotsia had the chance to truly explore. This trip was not about chasing India's high-tech hubs as many might think. For me, "Bengaluru" is a city full of vibrant street life and the aroma of street food where people genuinely stand and eat right on the walking street.
Many may know Bengaluru as the "Silicon Valley" of India, a city filled with thousands of IT companies and startups. But for mr.hotsia, Bengaluru is cleaner and greener than expected. Large trees line the streets, making even the summer sun bearable, perfect for walking around markets and walking streets.
This time, I intended to experience the nighttime atmosphere in the area known as the walking street, where locals gather to stand and eat street food lively, without tables or air conditioning, just the chatter of people, motorcycles, and truck horns blending together. The scent of spices and smoke from grilling food tantalizes the nose.
Street Food Market: Must-Try Delicacies
Standing and eating authentic Indian chicken biryani in Bengaluru is an unforgettable experience. In this walking street market, several street food stalls dimly lit sell chicken biryani with rich spices and the fragrant aroma of marinated grilled chicken, accompanied by a spicy dipping sauce that perfectly complements the flavors.
Besides chicken biryani, there is also Indian-style crispy fried chicken that mr.hotsia couldn't take his eyes off. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, with a balanced flavor that needs no extra sauce. This trip, I enjoyed leisurely tasting street food because this place is the true heart of Bengaluru's local life.
Life on the Walking Street
This trip to Bengaluru was not just about food but also about experiencing the lifestyle of people from various ethnicities here. The walking street in Bengaluru is not only a food hub but also a social gathering place where people from all over the city come together, including IT workers, vendors, and tourists like me.
mr.hotsia saw Indian teenagers chatting happily while elderly people sold souvenirs and traditional jewelry. Indian women in colorful saris walked by unhurriedly. Everything blended perfectly in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
I stopped to chat with a fruit vendor who displayed fresh fruits like ripe mangoes, durians, and fresh coconuts. The vibrant colors quickly erased my travel fatigue. She said, "Bengaluru is not just a tech city but also full of life on this walking street," which I wholeheartedly agree with.

Summary of Experience from mr.hotsia
For me, Bengaluru is not just a tech city or a big city with skyscrapers, but a city where pedestrians can easily experience real life through walking streets and street food markets. Standing and eating chicken biryani and fried chicken here is immersing in authentic Indian culture that you won't find in typical travel books.
If you want to experience this atmosphere, mr.hotsia recommends strolling around Bengaluru calmly, bringing curiosity and an open mind to new experiences. You will find that India is not only chaotic but also warm and vibrant through this walking street.
