Ancient Fruits in the Thai Overseas Village in India

When talking about India, many people probably think of the chaos of big cities likeBangaloreor the vibrant life of Mumbai. But for me, mr.hotsia, this journey took me to a small village of Thai people in India, located in the northeastern region near Assam state. This place is not just a Thai overseas community but also a rare repository of ancient fruits that are hard to find in typical big cities.

This village is situated in a quiet rural area surrounded by mountains and lush forests. The atmosphere is completely different from the big cities I have traveled through. Although not a main tourist destination, the lifestyle and way of life of the people here made me feel like I was traveling back in time, where native fruits and various vegetables are still well preserved.

Thai Village in Assam with Fragrant Native Fruits

I traveled to this village by local car passing through dirt roads and narrow paths hidden in the valley. The sound of birds and the scent of damp earth from last night's rain refreshed me and made me eager to explore the local way of life.

What impressed me most was the ancient fruit orchards carefully tended by the villagers. These fruits include many varieties rarely seen in general markets, such as native mangoes with a sweet and sour taste and a unique aroma, as well as other fruits that were staple foods of Thai people in the past, like wild longan with a sweet crisp flavor and traditional pomelo varieties cultivated for generations.

When I spoke with the villagers, they told me that growing these ancient fruits is not only for consumption but also to preserve the cultural heritage of Thai people in India who want to maintain their lifestyle and the flavors of their homeland for the future.

Experience Tasting Fresh Fruits Up Close

mr.hotsia had the opportunity to taste fresh fruits picked directly from the villagers' orchards. The juicy sweetness and aroma of each fruit impressed me greatly, especially the ancient mango variety with dense flesh and a smooth taste, different from the mangoes sold in big city markets. I also tried pomelo with a perfectly balanced sweet and sour flavor, along with crispy and crunchy longan.

Besides fruits, I also tasted local Thai food in India made from ingredients from these gardens, such as chicken biryani blending Indian spices with local produce, creating a novel and exciting flavor. This trip reminded me ofBangalorewhere I once experienced authentic Indian food, but here is another dimension of Thai culture abroad that I had never encountered before.

Harmonious Blending of Lifestyle and Culture

This Thai village in India is not just a residence but also a cultural center blending Thai and Indian elements perfectly. You will see Thai clothing mixed with Indian attire, as well as traditions and rituals still observed on every important day.

Traveling through this village reminded me ofNam Chi Tripwhich I experienced the peaceful atmosphere of Buddhists in northeastern India as well. Both places tell stories of small communities that have admirably preserved their traditions.

Travel and Tips for Interested Visitors

For travelers wanting to experience the atmosphere of this Thai village in India, the journey is not easy as it requires local transportation and assistance from locals to safely enter the community and gain an authentic experience.

I recommend preparing by studying basic cultural and language information, as well as physically preparing for travel in rural areas that may have rough roads and rapidly changing weather.

Summary of Impressions from This Trip

Visiting the Thai village in India that still preserves ancient fruits and traditional lifestyles so firmly made me, mr.hotsia, deeply feel the connection and love for this community's culture. Despite how much the world has changed, this place remains where we can learn and experience the true beauty of the past.

I hope this story inspires those interested to follow my footsteps to discover a new side of India that is not just big cities or famous tourist spots but the beauty of small communities full of unique stories and flavors.
