Tru Coffee Vientiane, the meeting point for coffee lovers in the capital of Laos

When it comes to coffee shops that I, mr.hotsia, like to visit in Vientiane, I must say the shopTru Coffee Vientianehas become a favorite spot not to be missed for those who love authentic fresh coffee and a relaxed atmosphere in this Lao capital. Previously, findingfresh coffee shops in Vientianethat meet the need for a long, comfortable stay with iced coffee and good wifi was not easy. But Tru Coffee, which recently opened, has completely changed that image.

Tru Coffee is located at a corner shop in the heart of Vientiane city. The shop has a very spacious area with both a cool air-conditioned zone and an open-air front zone where you can enjoy watching the daily life of Lao people passing by. I usually choose to sit in the open-air zone to enjoy the cool breeze and watch people walk past while sipping coffee and using the wifi, which is quite fast here. The service charge is only about 32 Thai Baht or 8,000 Kip per hour, which is very reasonable compared to most internet in Laos that is slower and more expensive.

As for the coffee menu at Tru Coffee Vientiane, the taste is quite good. The fresh coffee aroma rivals famous shops in Luang Prabang that I have recommended, such asJoma Coffeethere. If I were to rank coffee shops in Laos, Tru Coffee would easily be number one in Vientiane. Besides coffee, there are also fresh juices and cakes to enjoy. I feel that sitting here is like experiencing the warmth of sitting inside the Thai embassy in Laos.

Atmosphere and Highlights of Tru Coffee Vientiane

Vientiane is a city I love to stroll along the Mekong River in the evening because the sunset by the river here is as beautiful as anywhere else (read more atTravel Vientiane). But during the hot daytime, finding a cool air-conditioned spot with good coffee is essential. Tru Coffee perfectly meets this need. I have watched people of various nationalities—Lao, Thai, and foreigners—come and go here. It feels like a gathering point for travelers and workers in the capital.

I like that this shop is designed to be open and airy with plenty of seating, both inside with air conditioning to beat the heat and outside open-air seating for those who enjoy a natural atmosphere. If you drive or travel from far places like Vang Vieng or Phongsaly, you will find an oasis of cool comfort and good coffee here as well.

Stop to Recharge Before Continuing Your Vientiane Trip

If you come to Vientiane and want a chill place to relax, I recommend stopping by Tru Coffee. Besides good coffee, they also offer cakes and fresh juices to refresh you. The wifi here is excellent, allowing me to check emails or use social media without interruption.

Besides Tru Coffee, Vientiane has many other cozy coffee shops I have visited, such as Joma Coffee and the Vientiane Morning Market, where if you come early, you can taste authentic Lao coffee and local breakfast dishes (see more atVientiane Morning Market)

If you plan to travel in Vientiane, I recommend renting a bicycle to explore the city and visit important temples and attractions such as Pha That Luang, Haw Phra Kaew, or Wat Si Saket, all of which are not far apart (you can see routes and more info atWat Si Saket VientianeandHaw Phra Kaew Vientiane)

Complete Your Laos Trip with Coffee and Local Life at Tru Coffee

I, mr.hotsia, see Tru Coffee Vientiane not just as an ordinary coffee shop but as a great meeting point for tourists and locals alike. If you sit here sipping coffee and watch Lao life through the large windows, you will feel like you are in a small warm world connected strangely to our home.

If you travel to Vientiane, don’t forget to stop here. I guarantee it will help you relax and recharge while experiencing the laid-back life of the Lao capital and supporting a Thai business in Laos. I hope Tru Coffee will continue to offer great service for a long time, and maybe we’ll see a new branch open in Luang Prabang near Joma Coffee soon.
