It is truly strange and unbelievable because it is made of huge stones.
It's hard to believe it was made by humans, but it must be true because it is arranged orderly as a real wall. I once read on the internet that some people speculate it was a city wall of the Funan Kingdom, an ancient Southeast Asian kingdom, the first kingdom in the region. The Funan Kingdom is even older than Cambodia's Angkor Wat. However, there is no definite information confirming this. Currently, Laos preserves it as a tourist attraction.
I forgot to mention that this wall stretches several hundred meters in the forest along the route from Thakhek towards Vientiane, around kilometer marker 7 on the left side, right next to Highway 13 (see the Great Wall travel map). The wall's location is still forested and very imposing. The stones are so large that it’s hard to imagine how people could have built it. Locals call it the wall that no one dares to disturb. This story is intriguing and will continue.
