Chedi Jaitalan is located on a hilltop in the middle of Mawlamyine city, surrounded by Mawlamyine villages that still maintain a simple lifestyle. Although it is in the city, the atmosphere here is surprisingly peaceful and shady. Getting to this pagoda was very easy for me as a traveler. I rode a motorcycle from The Breeze Guest House; the fare was only 15 baht. But at night, I had to pay an additional 700 kyats, about 20 baht, because the darkness required more caution. This was not expensive at all for the experience I received.
