These are authentic Chin houses showcasing antiques with explanations provided. There is a small entrance fee. What impressed me is that Chin houses are built from wood and raised off the ground. The carvings on the walls and doors are beautifully done in the Chin style. A Chin house typically has one bedroom where parents, children, sons-in-law, and daughters-in-law all sleep together. At the back of the house, there is an attached latrine for nighttime use. The old Chin houses are located in the city center and can be visited by motorcycle.
You can also walk to visit as it is not far from the hotel. These old Chin houses and the Chin museum built by the government are located in Hakha. Hakha is a small town without tuk-tuks or buses. To get around, you need to hitch a ride on someone else's motorcycle or walk. Do not expect it to be like a big city, but this town is warm and welcoming for travelers.
