The Washing Ceremony of the Mahamuni Buddha, Authentic Burmese Poi Sang Long Festival, Hotels and Accommodations in Mandalay City and in Yangon and Other Cities in Myanmar. I found prices to be higher than other countries. When I stayed, I stayed at Fortune Mandalay Hotel, 750 Baht per night, shared bathroom with squat toilets, not separated by gender. I am big-sized and had difficulty using the toilet, and I decided never to stay in a room with this type of toilet again. On the last day, I stayed again in a room with a private bathroom, twin beds, 1,200 Baht per night. All rooms here include breakfast.

This is one of the hotels I think is affordable and good in Mandalay city. The Fortune Hotel where I stayed is not far from the morning market, very good location. Delicious restaurants are in front of the hotel. Walking about a hundred meters, you find a coffee and bakery shop with free Wi-Fi that is fast enough. The air conditioning is cold, and you can stroll around easily. It is considered central city. In Mandalay, there are many price levels because tourists visiting Mandalay come from all levels. When I went up to Mandalay Hill and looked down, I saw many large 4-star and 5-star hotels.

The hotel is located outside the city zone. I recommend booking a hotel in Mandalay for the first day in advance. For the following days, you can find accommodations yourself for convenience. This formula also works in Yangon. For Naypyidaw, I recommend booking all days in advance. Or if you want to book all days to avoid full accommodations, for example, the Fortune Hotel I stayed at nearby can also be fully booked. I think people in Mandalay speak English well, especially in hotels. So don’t worry about language when staying in Mandalay.

If the hotel in Mandalay is a large full-service hotel, it will have a spa with Mansalay traditional spa and Mandalay-style massage (Mansalay traditional massage). But if it is a small hotel like mine, it does not have these. Also, I didn’t find many hotels like in Vietnam or Cambodia. Guesthouses are hardly seen. Overall, I think hotels in Mandalay are hard to find and should be booked in advance to save trouble. If you want to book the same hotel I stayed at, click here mr.hotsia August 2013.
