In Mandalay, it's hard to experience a good spa massage because of the high prices. I just tried a Mandalay-style oil massage costing 200-300 Baht per hour. This time, the spa at Amazing Mandalay Hotel had a discount, reducing the price from 30 USD to 25 USD. It was an aroma massage that lasted a while. The masseuse was very skilled, and I almost fell asleep. Soft music played, the spa room smelled of fragrant oils, and there was a shower room available after the massage. At this Mandalay spa, they don’t provide shorts to wear during the massage.
You only need to wear a towel. They massage the back first, then flip you to the front. I recommend staying at Amazing Mandalay Hotel and using their spa services to get special discounts. The spa rooms are all VIP, and many foreigners use the service. Recently, more spas have opened in Mandalay, likely due to customer demand for massages, spa treatments, baths, steam, mineral scrubs, and similar services. Mandalay is very hot during the daytime in summer.
Taking a break like this is definitely worth it. If you find this information useful, book Amazing Mandalay Hotel by clicking here. mr.Hotsia Travel Satisfaction, February 2015.
