The face-washing ceremony of the Mahamuni Buddha, Authentic Burmese Poisanglong. On the day I rented a motorcycle to travel outside the city to Mingun and Sagaing hills, on the way back, I passed a market on the right side before entering Mandalay city. This market was very lively, with Mandalay girls sitting on high chairs selling Mandalay sweets. It looked like a beauty pageant. On the first day, I told myself not to stop, but on the second day, I intentionally stopped, greeted each stall, and took photos of the Mandalay beauties.
Here is my share from Thepyi Market. Some did not allow photos, so I didn’t take pictures there, but the video clip covers everything. This market is like a Thai flea market, with goods laid out along the roadside. But the part called Thepyi seems to be permanent. Everyone sells only Mandalay sweets, similar to Thai caramel. Thepyi beauties sit smiling at customers in a row of about ten people. In front of the beauties, there are old-fashioned hanging scales. Besides caramel, there are many other local Mandalay sweets.
