Formed by the confluence of the Pegu River and the Myitmaka River, flowing from Yangon to the sea, it is an estuary. The distance from Yangon to the sea is 30 kilometers. Along the Yangon River, there are large ferries charging only a few US dollars for a round trip. I recommend taking the ferry to the other side to stroll and find Burmese food. Besides the large ferries, there are also small boats similar to two-section boats but powered by small engines with two oars, serving Yangon locals crossing at other points. In front of the Yadana Thettawun Pagoda, there is also a pier.
Before going, I imagined the Yangon riverside would be like the Tonle Sap riverside in Cambodia, with buildings blocking the view and dedicated riverside walkways. The only riverside walkways I saw were near Yadana Thettawun Pagoda and the main ferry pier. Maybe I didn't walk all over Yangon.
