A trip by Mr.Hotsia exploring downtown Chiang Rai, strolling around the city center, affordable and good hotels in Chiang Rai, Saharos Pork Blood Soup, Pork Blood Soup with Chinese Celery, Bitter Melon at the evening market in Chiang Rai, Mango Sticky Rice Ice Cream, Chiang Rai Clock Tower. I would like to recommend two popular breakfast spots among Chiang Rai locals.
The first is the Pork Blood Soup with Chinese Celery near the new bus terminal, just after the U-turn. The other is Saharos Clock Tower Restaurant. This second place opens at 6:30 AM. It’s not the Chinese Celery Pork Blood Soup but equally delicious. Saharos is located next to Sukh Nirand Hotel beside the Clock Tower, and in the morning there’s also a yellow coffee cart nearby. Tourists love to eat here since it’s in the city and you don’t need to drive or take a taxi outside. But in my opinion, the Chinese Celery Pork Blood Soup has softer pork meatballs.
