When you mention a walking street, everyone imagines a street where vendors set up shops in the early evening. There are some local villagers and some professional sellers setting up stalls. Most importantly, there must be many people walking around for it to be called a walking street (this is obvious). Some places also have street musicians or independent artists performing. Most walking streets are found in Northern Thailand, such as Chiang Mai Walking Street, Pai Walking Street, Mae Hong Son Walking Street, Chiang Rai Walking Street. Similar concepts exist in Central Thailand as well.

In the Central region, these often turn into floating markets like Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market or old markets over a hundred or two hundred years old. Lampang province also has a walking street that has been around for many years. Today, for an exciting trip in our style, we recommend Kad Kong Ta Walking Street in the horse carriage city of Lampang. What special things does it have? Kad Kong Ta is open only on Saturdays and Sundays from about 6 PM to 10 PM. The busiest time is around 8 PM.

At 8 PM, not only are there many people, but they also buy things. This is what the sellers say. Before and after that time, people mostly just browse without buying. This seems true because I observed for several days. Two years ago, I came here once; back then, the crowd was sparse. Villagers sold Northern-style crafts, snacks, and food in front of their houses. The street looked dim, sometimes lit by lanterns in front of houses. Two years ago, there were very few tourists, mostly just sellers walking around.

After two years, Kad Kong Ta has become one of my favorite walking streets because I see the genuine cooperation of Lampang locals. They organize it well, smile brightly, and serve tourists warmly. Most sellers on both sides are real villagers selling food and other items, which gives this walking street a charm that attracts more and more tourists every day. Visitors to Kad Kong Ta are mostly not many tourists.

Most visitors are locals or people from nearby districts and provinces. Tourists come mostly during long holidays. During the recent New Year holiday, Kad Kong Ta was so crowded that people had to flow slowly. On regular Saturdays and Sundays when I visited, the crowd was just right, not too many or too few. Lampang people have only one place to stroll and relax, and that is here. Early evening on weekends, people come to stroll, really just strolling and sometimes buying food.

Meeting and greeting each other is a regular Saturday-Sunday routine at Kad Kong Ta. Kad Kong Ta has good security. There is a Kad Kong Ta committee that manages it themselves. The committee members are sellers and locals living nearby. They have radios to communicate. The walking street has security units taking good care. Although Kad Kong Ta has no public restrooms, visitors can ask shops open on the entrance side to use their facilities.

They are willing to serve tourists fully. Kad Kong Ta offers parking services. The walking street is about 300 meters long. I walked from the start to the end and recorded a video to share. Walking normally, a bit fast, it takes about 10 minutes from start to end. But if you browse the items, it takes about 30-40 minutes. Kad Kong Ta today is no longer ordinary like two years ago because Lampang people have a charm that attracts tourists. First, taking photos at any shop,

every shop smiles brightly. Greeting and chatting with shop owners is friendly, with excellent service. Tourists arriving at Kad Kong Ta will feel an indescribable warmth. This is why I titled it "Kad Kong Ta Today is Extraordinary." I wonder if Lampang locals reading this might feel shy. For me, Kad Kong Ta is one of the best walking streets. It starts with sipping herbal wine at Kad Kong Ta Lampang, only 10 baht per glass. I had just half a glass to taste and laugh before walking.

Along the entire Kad Kong Ta walking street, I recommend not eating much beforehand because there are plenty of foods sold. You will definitely be full. There are traditional snacks, various old-style foods, Khao Soi, fruit smoothies, and importantly, very cheap prices. The herbal wine seller I tried was excellent. Now, let's see Hotsia.com as we tour Kad Kong Ta walking street. I arrived just before dark to capture photos and videos of the atmosphere before nightfall to share with followers. After capturing a set of photos and videos,

I was drawn to the herbal wine again, which is another ancient Chinese medicine. I had learned before that Kad Kong Ta is an old Chinese community. Ah, the Chinese herbal wine here must be unique. After asking the price, it turned out to be only 10 baht per glass. It is an ancient Chinese herbal wine with a slightly sweet taste, easy to drink and soothing to the throat. I tried it and chatted with the seller about Kad Kong Ta. I only drank a small glass, not to get drunk, just to enjoy the local atmosphere.

Around a little past 7 PM, I started exploring what foods Kad Kong Ta offers. I began walking along both sides of Kad Kong Ta, where there were clothes, accessories, decorations, and food. The crowd was comfortable, not crowded. There was live music at various shops along the way, so it was not lonely. The first shop I stopped at was a rice ball shop, which sells traditional Lanna Thai snacks. The shop arranged low tables and small chairs for 5-6 people. The rice balls look similar to Khanom Thuai (Thai coconut milk custard). The preparation is somewhat similar.

But rice balls here include fried garlic and sugarcane syrup before eating, suitable for snacking. These rice balls are not like Japanese sushi rice balls; they are authentic Thai Lanna snacks. They are not sweet or overwhelming like stuffed desserts. I recorded an interview with the shop owner and how to eat the rice balls to share. This traditional rice ball shop is popular with a steady flow of customers. I tried two bowls; they were delicious, especially the sweet sugarcane syrup. They are served in beautiful banana leaf cups. Butterfly pea flower juice turns purple when squeezed with lime.

Another eye-catching food is Kai Paam, a unique dish not easily found. Kai Paam or Kai Paam is eggs gently grilled over low heat instead of steaming. It is made like steamed eggs but placed in banana leaf cups and then grilled over low heat until cooked. Kai Paam may include minced pork or other side ingredients as desired. At Kad Kong Ta walking street, there is an aunt grilling Kai Paam in banana leaf cups for sale. If you enter from the one-baht rice porridge shop and turn right into the walking street, it is not far.
