Everyone Goes to Eat at the One-Baht Rice Porridge Restaurant in Lampang. There are many rice porridge restaurants in Lampang province, including two or three in front of Mod Yim, some by the Wang River, and others in different zones. However, around Kad Kong Ta, there is only one One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant. The full name is Delicious One-Baht Restaurant. We rank it as the number one rice porridge restaurant in Lampang. I have been working on the website here in Lampang for several months.

In the evening, I play tennis at the court next to Thip Chang Hotel. The players there often eat at the One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant. Sometimes when I work late and forget the time, I come to this One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant at 10 or 11 pm. I have tried other places but none impressed me like this one. There must be something special, otherwise the phrase "Everyone goes to eat at the One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant" wouldn't exist. This restaurant has been open for over seven years.

Originally, it was located near Ban Dong Temple (the temple I see from dawn till dusk because my accommodation faces it). After about two years, the owner looked for a new location and found the old house of Lord Khun Uthai, the pioneer of horse carriages in Lampang (there is an old room upstairs to see). Initially, there was a fence around the place, but the owners, Khun Ple and Khun Pae, got permission from the heirs to remove it and renovated the place into the rice porridge restaurant we see today.

The One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant has an excellent location that is hard to find fault with. In the early evening, horse carriages carrying tourists pass by every few tens of minutes. New tourists like me are fascinated and stop eating to watch the carriages happily. But after staying here for months and eating here often, I got used to the horses passing by and don't pay much attention. However, when sitting by the roadside, I always wave to the tourists.

The One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant is next to Kad Kong Ta, the starting point of the market. Anyone visiting Kad Kong Ta, which is open every Saturday and Sunday, will start at this restaurant. It is located opposite the first alley of Kad Kong Ta and not far from nearby hotels. Both Thai and international tourists often come here for dinner.

See how excellent the location is? We must praise Khun Pae and Khun Ple for choosing this spot that allows us to enjoy delicious one-baht dishes today. With such a great location and beautiful view of horses passing by, another reason I often eat here is because the food is very cheap—extremely cheap. How cheap? One baht per bowl of rice porridge, dishes at 20 or 30 baht. Isn't that cheap, dear viewers? I sat down to eat rice porridge.

Five bowls with three side dishes cost only 65 baht. I could sit and watch horses running in groups. But it's not just cheap food; there are dishes priced a bit higher according to quality, like fried fish with chili sauce or whole fish dishes, around 99 baht. Wow, with prices this low, everyone goes to the One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant. Beautiful view and cheap prices are not enough; when you order food here, it arrives almost immediately, faster than MK Suki, even without WIFI.

Saying the food here is the fastest in the world might be an exaggeration, but you get your food immediately no matter how many customers there are because the owners have an excellent system in place. Kudos to them. With such fast service, everyone goes to the One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant. This is the only place I like to eat dinner, so I know well what tastes great and what is ordinary. Let me share my food recommendations to see if you like them.

They say food preference depends on childhood eating habits, so if you try and don't find it tasty, that's okay. I recommend the pork balls, three-flavored tilapia, stir-fried water mimosa, crispy pork, salted fish salad. Pork balls are rare to find elsewhere; they mince pork, season it, and form balls. They are extremely delicious, perfect for dipping in chili sauce and eating with hot steamed rice or rice mixed with porridge. But I don't recommend eating pork balls with rice porridge because when dipped in chili sauce,

it ruins the taste of the porridge as the sauce dissolves in the water. The sign of the One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant, pork balls at the One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant, pork balls at One-Baht Rice Porridge. The three-flavored fish must be ordered and tasted. This restaurant has many customers, so they know how much fish to prepare daily. The fish is fresh daily and fried almost to order, but don't worry about it not being hot. As I said, many customers come, so they fry almost non-stop. Thus, you get fresh, hot fish.

When topped with the restaurant's three-flavored sauce, it is incredibly delicious. When I ate the three-flavored fish, I didn't even hear the horses passing by. It really is that good. The other dishes I recommend are also tasty but similar to other restaurants. The crispy pork here is good but not as good as the one opposite Mod Yim. I'm not sure which day I was hungrier. Now let's talk about choosing a table. Getting a good seat makes the food taste even better. Your dinner will be unforgettable.

The number one table to sit at is the upstairs balcony by the edge, with only two or three tables. This spot offers a beautiful view where you can see people passing by. The old wooden balcony makes you feel warm, like eating at your grandmother's house when you were a child. The second best spot is downstairs by the walkway, perfect for those who like watching horses because you can see them clearly in 3D. The horses running through the wind and the scent of horses touching you

make you feel like you are dining amidst nature. This is my feeling; you have to try it yourself to see if you feel the same. The third recommended spot is the downstairs and upstairs terraces, suitable for groups who want to eat and chat together. Here is a photo of the front of the restaurant taken from the opposite side. The staff are having their meal after the guests have mostly left. Another good thing about the One-Baht Rice Porridge restaurant is its cleanliness.
