Lampang, the city of horse-drawn carriages, is mostly a transit point for tourists traveling to Chiang Mai. Most travelers stop briefly in Lampang before continuing on to Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Mae Hong Son. This makes Lampang a rather quiet city, a peaceful and comfortable place, known as the spiritual city of Luang Por Kasem Khemko. This aspect makes Lampang an ideal place to relax without the crowds.
No need to compete for sightseeing spots, people smile warmly, and horse carriages run throughout the city. Lampang Province should no longer be overlooked. Visitors should stop by or plan to stay several days to truly experience Lampang. HotSia.com recommends a delicious coffee shop well-known among Lampang coffee lovers. Actually, there are many fresh coffee shops in Lampang such as Black Canyon Coffee, Wawi Coffee, and Doi Chang Coffee, each with their own unique location.
Each shop has its own territory. But the shop I want to recommend today is run by a local Lampang native who was born and raised here and opened a coffee shop in Lampang. The shop is located near Khelang Garden, not far from Thip Chang Hotel. It is a delicious coffee shop with a good atmosphere, friendly like local people, as if drinking coffee made from the heart of true Lampang locals. Why is it called Mae U-Kho Coffee? Everyone asks, and I asked the shop myself and got the answer that
the owner has a friend at Doi Mae U-Kho, so he sources coffee from Doi Mae U-Kho, roasting and grinding it himself, and opened Mae U-Kho Coffee shop. Why use another name? Because the coffee comes from Doi Mae U-Kho anyway. Doi Mae U-Kho is no longer famous just for the 'Tung Bua Tong at Doi Mae U-Kho' but the coffee is also becoming well known. I thought maybe Doi Wawi might feel a bit jealous of the fame of Wawi coffee and might try planting Bua Tong flowers there to create a 'Tung Bua Tong at Doi Wawi,' which would add another tourist attraction.
Enough about coffee stories. Coffee lovers might complain if I talk too much. Let's see what the coffee shop is like. The highlight of Mae U-Kho Coffee in Lampang is, first of all, the coffee is delicious, freshly roasted and ground cup by cup, making each cup fragrant and tasty, very satisfying for coffee lovers like me. I have tasted fresh coffee at many places. The worst are those with very thin cups where the coffee almost spills out when you hold them.
You have to be very careful handling them. Even if the coffee is superb, a flimsy cup ruins the taste immediately. But at Mae U-Kho Coffee Lampang, the cups are thick and sturdy, giving a truly satisfying experience of drinking iced coffee. Another thing to praise is the shop’s well-organized, very comfortable atmosphere, perfect for sitting and surfing the internet. The shop provides a computer with free Wi-Fi service. Everything is just right, but
HotSia.com takes you on exciting trips around Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. Since this is my first story, I must mention a downside. The shop's front and side windows are very clear, which reduces the warmth inside the shop a bit. But compared to the coffee and overall atmosphere, this can be overlooked. The recommended coffee is the Mae U-Kho iced coffee or iced cappuccino, both fragrant, rich, sweet, and creamy with their own special recipe.
The large coffee cups are comfortable to hold and satisfying to drink without finishing too quickly. Coffee lovers will definitely enjoy tasting it. I haven't had the chance to try the hot coffee yet, but the staff said they have practiced and can make it well now. Friends who visit Lampang, please try it and post your comments below. Thank you very much. Mae U-Kho Coffee has 6-7 branches and a website at http://maeaukorcoffee.com/index.php for more information. Visit Lampang, ride a horse carriage, travel Lampang with HotSia.com.
I recommend trying Mae U-Kho Coffee. The seating is comfortable and perfect for long stays, with friendly and cheerful staff. Additional information about Mae U-Kho Coffee from their website: Mae U-Kho (Doi Mae U-Kho) is located in Mae U-Kho Subdistrict, Khun Yuam District, Mae Hong Son Province. It is nationally famous for its tourist attraction, the Bua Tong flower fields, situated at over 1,600 meters elevation with cool weather year-round. Especially in winter, the Bua Tong flowers bloom fully, revealing their beauty.
Besides the beauty of the Bua Tong flower fields and Northern culture, there is something wonderful hidden in these mountains waiting to be discovered: Arabica coffee with excellent taste, fragrant and enticing, rivaling the beauty of the Bua Tong flowers. The coffee produced here is carefully tended by local farmers, resulting in high-quality beans. Then, the coffee is meticulously selected and processed by the skilled Mae U-Kho Coffee team, ensuring every cup satisfies both Thai and international coffee lovers.
