Puangphet Restaurant is located behind Khao Wang near Royal Diamond Hotel, the best hotel in Phetchaburi city. Puangphet has been open for a long time. My favorite dish here is the spicy stir-fried catfish, which uses only Karen chili peppers to achieve that intense spiciness. The chilies are greenish, not red like other places. This is my personal favorite. Mr.Hotsia recommends that the spicy stir-fry here is truly hot; some people order it but cannot handle the heat. Don’t assume that if you can eat spicy food well, you can easily handle this dish here.
Even I, who can handle spicy food, had to admit defeat. The crispy fried shrimp rolls are excellent. If you eat them while the stir-fry is still hot, your tears will flow. When eating the shrimp rolls, finish them first, then enjoy the spicy stir-fried sea catfish with hot steamed rice. For this trip, I want to thank P'Moo from the fan page who, upon learning I was visiting Phetchaburi, drove me to this restaurant and said it was famous and very delicious. It truly lived up to the reputation. Friends, look at the last photo I took of myself—that was right after I finished eating, feeling the intense heat with tears streaming and ears ringing.
