The pagoda is the birth year shrine for those born in the Year of the Tiger. The top must-visit site upon arriving in Phrae is still Cho Hae Pagoda, located ten kilometers from downtown Phrae. Visitors come to pay respects and make wishes. This pagoda is the birth year shrine for people born in the Year of the Tiger. Both tourists and locals frequently visit. It is my number one recommendation for Buddhist travelers.

This pagoda was built since the late Sukhothai period. Activities I observed tourists doing include ringing the bell, lighting candles to celebrate the full moon day, walking around the pagoda three times, and praying to the 'Instant Buddha'. When I visited, a new ordination hall was under construction and not yet finished. mr.hotsia May 2013. Thai Chimes temple, ringing the bell at Cho Hae Pagoda. Visit www.hotsia.com for exciting travel. Make merit by offering cloth to wrap the pagoda. Monk alms bowl, placing coins in the bowl. GPS coordinates (POI): 18 5 10.391 N, 100 12 13.553 E
