To serve as a spiritual center for the people, it was resolved to build a prang-style city pillar shrine in the Kanchanaphisek Garden perimeter, Tha Kasem Subdistrict. A city pillar was made from a Chaiyaphruek tree, crafted according to ancient tradition, standing 3.50 meters tall. It was respectfully presented to His Majesty the King, who performed the consecration and anointed the top of the city pillar and the golden city plaque of Sa Kaeo Province on Thursday, September 12, 1996.
