Sa Kaeo Province - Rong Kluea Market
http://www.hotsia.com > Sa Kaeo Province > Rong Kluea Market Rong Kluea Market is well known as a place selling clothes by the sack. It started after the Cambodian war. Since then, cross-border trade has continued with cheap items including clothing, electrical appliances, and more. The market is located right at the Thai border checkpoint in Aranyaprathet, opposite Poipet Subdistrict, Ou Chrov District, Banteay Meanchey Province.

This is an important border crossing for tourists traveling to Angkor Wat in Siem Reap or gamblers heading to casinos in Poipet. This has made Rong Kluea Market increasingly popular. Many wonder why it is called 'Rong Kluea' (Salt Warehouse). The answer is that this area was once used to store salt for export to Cambodia. Later, salt usage declined due to internal conflicts in Cambodia from 1979 to 1993, and the area transformed into the market we know today. However, the name Rong Kluea Market remains.
I did not shop directly at the market but passed through to exchange USD nearby, then crossed the border to Poipet, took a bus from Poipet to visit Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia, followed by Phnom Penh. I have yet to buy secondhand clothes here, and many others feel the same.
But I believe many have worn clothes from this source. Local traders collect clothes here and distribute them to temple fairs and flea markets throughout Thailand. mr.hotsia April 13 39 53.549 N, 102 32 46.541 E GPS Coordinates (POI) 18 56 9.965 N, 98 49 22.146 E 13 39 52.181 N, 102 32 48.449 E 13 39 52.229 N, 102 32 48.443 E 13 39 52.751 N, 102 32 49.277 E 13 39 48.726 N, 102 32 53.399 E 13 39 49.109 N, 102 32 53.082 E
