I stopped to pay respects to the large golden Buddha, Phra Phuttha Rattanamunee Sri Det Udom, located in Mueang Det Subdistrict, Det Udom District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. The statue measures 25 meters across the lap and 45 meters tall, bringing good fortune. Then I drove around to explore the town of Det Udom. The old houses give a charming provincial travel vibe. Locals were shopping in town, and many shops looked inviting for a meal, but I was already full.
From Det Udom, I headed to Ubon city and encountered a large white Buddha at Wat Pa Wai, Det Udom. The sky over Det Udom was stunning, contrasting beautifully with the white Buddha statue.
