Good Morning PAI with mr.hotsia

Early morning in Pai, Mae Hong Son Province. This time, I want to take friends north through Chiang Mai before turning into Mae Hong Son on a familiar route because Pai is not far from Chiang Mai. Most importantly, the morning atmosphere in Pai is so charming that mr.hotsia never misses it every time I visit.

The sky is not fully bright yet. I woke up early to stroll around Pai town slowly waking up. The cold breeze drifts through the small valley surrounding this town. The birdsong and the morning mist scent are what mr.hotsia loves most about Pai. Walking along the morning walking street, the corner coffee shops start turning on warm lights. The dim glow from lanterns and mist make the atmosphere here feel like stepping into another world.

Many coffee shops in Pai open from early dawn. mr.hotsia recommends trying hot black coffee or drip coffee carefully brewed. I chose to sip coffee at a small shop by the main road while watching people start their daily shopping. The aroma of crispy rice dumplings and freshly grilled sticky rice makes the morning even warmer.

For those who want to experience the real lifestyle of Pai locals, I recommend waking up early to visit Pai fresh market. The market is small but full of fresh produce, including local vegetables and fruits, fresh duck and chicken eggs. Some shops sell salted eggs from the nearby Muang On mineral springs, which I have written about inMuang On Mineral Salted Eggsas well.

Walking around Pai fresh market, you will truly feel the local atmosphere. There are also rare local foods such as original recipe chicken khao soi at a small hidden alley shop where I, mr.hotsia, often stop to recharge before continuing the journey. Or try local desserts like fresh rice noodles with jungle curry and northern chili dip so delicious that I had to ask the owner for the recipe.

After sipping coffee and recharging with a simple local breakfast, I head out to enjoy the natural views around Pai, which is not far from the market. Pai has many beautiful viewpoints perfect for watching the sunrise and feeling the mist swirling over the mountain peaks, such asYun Lai Viewpointwhich I have visited many times. It offers views of mountains and small villages that still preserve their natural charm well.

Speaking of beliefs and culture related to Chiang Mai province, which is not far from Pai, I, mr.hotsia, recommend visiting to pay respects atWat Saen Thong OmkoiThis temple houses the revered Phra Chao Saen Thong statue greatly respected by locals. If you enjoy nature trails, nearby is Doi Tao lake ruins that I have written about inExploring Doi Tao Lake Ruinswhich you should visit as well.

Back to Good Morning Pai, after strolling and taking photos in town, I usually drive towards Khun Yuam or Mae Chaem, passing routes with small local coffee shops and eateries to rest and recharge, such as Jaeng Muang restaurant where I stopped at Mae Chaem.Jaeng Muang RestaurantHere they serve delicious khao soi and fragrant coffee, perfect for travelers wanting to rest and recharge before continuing their journey.

Good Morning Pai is not just about natural beauty but also full of stories about local life, simple and warm lifestyles. Sometimes I, mr.hotsia, think of the hunters along the Ping River in Chiang Mai area, whose way of life I experienced and shared inHunters of the Ping RiverA life facing nature and living sufficiently.

For those who love the morning atmosphere of a small town full of charm and peace, Pai is the answer mr.hotsia wants to recommend. Sometimes just walking in the morning market, tasting local snacks, sipping hot black coffee, and watching the mist mingle with morning sunlight is enough to fill your heart ready for the next journey.

If you want to see this atmosphere clearly, I recommend watching the videoGood Morning PAIon my YouTube channel to truly experience the freshness and real morning in Pai.

Finally, traveling to Pai is not just about visiting nature but experiencing the warm lifestyle of a small town connected with Chiang Mai province, which has many attractions and interesting local stories. If you have the chance, don't forget to visit and experience the real Pai and Chiang Mai as I, mr.hotsia, have shared.
