Hot Coffee Maenajorn: Coffee deep in the forest of Chiang Mai

Hello, I am mr.hotsia. Today I will take everyone on a journey along the deepest routes in Chiang Mai province to discover one of the most remote and mysterious coffee shops in Thailand. This shop is calledHot CoffeeIt is located at Village 5, Maenajorn Subdistrict, Mae Chaem District, Chiang Mai Province. Many people may not have heard of this name or know this route well, but I can say this route is for those who love challenges and authentic natural atmosphere.

Traveling to Hot Coffee shop is not easy. Starting from Mae Chaem town behind Doi Inthanon, drive along the route to Maenajorn. This route heads towards Khun Yuam, Mae Hong Son Province. About 1 kilometer before Maenajorn, you will see a quaint fresh coffee shop hidden in the forest. I myself could hardly believe that deep in the forest there is a coffee shop that seriously grows and roasts its own coffee beans.

Hot Coffee shop is not just an ordinary coffee shop. It is part of the Care Foundation, an independent organization that helps hill tribe children with education and living conditions. The foundation supports these children to complete their studies both domestically and abroad, then sends them back to develop their hometowns. Most of the staff serving at this coffee shop are children who have been helped by the foundation.

I, mr.hotsia, was very impressed to drink coffee here. It’s not just the smooth and fragrant taste, but also the indirect support to the children. Besides coffee and basic food menus, the shop also has a corner selling woven fabrics and handicraft products made by the children in the foundation. Buying from this shop truly supports the community.

There is also a small accommodation with a very nice atmosphere, located next to the river flowing in front of the house. It is a quiet and close-to-nature resting spot. When I visited Hot Coffee shop, it had just recently opened to tourists. I didn’t stay here because the internet was not strong enough for some of my work, but for checking emails or browsing normally, it was adequate.

Besides coffee and accommodation, there is a short course to learn knife forging, which is popular among foreign tourists who ride motorcycles passing through here. I plan to return soon to learn knife forging and engrave the name www.hotsia.com on a knife to fully share the experience.

Mae Chaem - Maenajorn - Khun Yuam Route: An interesting new travel route

The route from Mae Chaem through Maenajorn to Khun Yuam is not well known among Thai tourists, but foreigners who enjoy motorcycle touring in deep forests favor it. This route is becoming popular among adventure travel lovers. I, mr.hotsia, am exploring the route from Mae Chaem to Pai via Maesa and Wat Chan to reveal a circular route that allows travel from Doi Inthanon to Mae Chaem, then to Maenajorn, Maesa, Wat Chan, and Pai conveniently.

When this route is developed for easier travel, it will be a very interesting new option for those who want to visit both Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son without retracing the same path. I will update detailed information about this route on the website.hotsia.comPlease stay tuned closely.

Lifestyle and atmosphere around Hot Coffee shop

At Maenajorn, the peace and simplicity of the hill tribe community remain well preserved. I walked around the coffee shop and felt like going back to the days when transportation was not as convenient as today. Most houses still maintain traditional lifestyles, with small vegetable gardens and corn fields not far from the shop.

The morning atmosphere here is cool and comfortable, with light mist floating over the river flowing in front of the shop. Soft sunlight filters through the treetops, making the coffee I drank taste especially smooth. I recommend trying the fresh coffee here because it is grown in highland areas. Anyone who likes specialty or Arabica coffee with good flavor will definitely not be disappointed.

For those interested in enhancing knowledge and experience, besides learning knife forging, there are also handicraft products made by the children for sale. Choosing souvenirs here means more than just a typical gift because it helps these children earn income and have hope in life.

Connections with nearby attractions around Chiang Mai

If you visit Mae Chaem, don’t forget to stop by and try northern Thai food atJaeng Muang Restaurantwhich is a famous restaurant in Mae Chaem town. I have stopped by many times and really like their Khao Soi as well as the friendly local atmosphere.

For those who enjoy nature and cultural tourism, don’t miss visitingAncient Mueang Hodwhich was once flooded but has returned full of stories and charm of the past, or visit the Doi Tao lake ruinswhich I have previously written about. It is another very interesting route.

Summary of experience from mr.hotsia

Hot Coffee Maenajorn is more than just a coffee shop. It is a connection point for the community and child development through coffee and handicrafts. I, mr.hotsia, invite everyone who loves off-the-beaten-path travel to visit here once. The journey may be challenging, but the joy of experiencing the real hill tribe lifestyle, drinking freshly grown coffee, and supporting a good project here is very worthwhile.

For those interested in the new travel route opening soon, I will update information about the Mae Chaem - Maenajorn - Maesa - Wat Chan - Pai route shortly. Please stay tuned.
