Speaking as someone who travels to Chiang Rai often, mr.hotsia considers the Chiang Rai Flower Festival 2016 one of the most impressive experiences worth sharing. The event is held every early year, but in 2016 I had the chance to visit in person. From the heart, I can say the grandeur of the colorful flowers decorating the entire area was beautiful and full of life like I had never seen before.

The festival is held at Tung and Khom Chalerm Phrakiat Park in the heart of Chiang Rai city, which is conveniently accessible with ample parking. The event is not just about flowers; it also features local art and culture displays such as folk performances and traditional costumes of the various ethnic groups in Chiang Rai, making it more than just a flower festival.

Walking along paths paved with flower petals and decorated with colorful lanterns in the evening, I felt like I was in a fairy tale land. The organizers’ intention to bring everyone closer to nature and local culture was very clear.

After fully enjoying the flower displays, hunger quickly came upon me. Fortunately, the festival had many local food booths to choose from. I highly recommend Por Duck Noodle San Khi Bao, which is not far from the event. Or if you want to try the famous braised beef basil of Chiang Rai, Roy Han restaurant in the city center is a great choice.I have visited and was very impressed.
