Crispy skin, tender meat - Mr. Odd's Salt-Roasted Duck only 290 Baht. A perfect meal to rest your stomach at Lista Cafe @Chiang Rai

Hello, I'm mr.hotsia. Today I'll take you to try a special dish I recently discovered in downtown Chiang Rai. The dish is “Crispy Skin, Tender Meat” from Mr. Odd's Salt-Roasted Duck, priced at only 290 Baht. Food is always a big deal for mr.hotsia, but this time I can say it’s truly worth it and very impressive.

First, let me tell you a bit about Mr. Odd's Salt-Roasted Duck, located not far from downtown Chiang Rai. It's a small shop but the deliciousness is anything but small. This place is famous for its salt-roasted duck, where salt is the main ingredient, making the duck skin crispy while the meat remains tender and juicy. I've heard many good things about it, and now that I’m in Chiang Rai, I couldn’t miss the chance to try it myself.

Upon arriving at the shop, I ordered crispy duck skin and tender meat on the same plate. The special thing is the skin is seriously crispy, almost breaking into pieces, but when you chew it, it’s not hard or tough. Instead, the tender meat contrasts perfectly with the crispy texture. The dipping sauce provided is not too strong, enhancing the flavor so you can keep eating without feeling greasy.

This time I chose to rest my stomach atLista Cafewhich is near Mr. Odd's Salt-Roasted Duck. This small cafe has a cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxing and recharging after a day of exploring downtown Chiang Rai. They offer a variety of refreshing drinks and homemade cakes. I like the simplicity and warmth of this place. It feels like a great way to rest your stomach after enjoying crispy duck skin to the fullest.

If anyone visitsChiang Raiand wants to try something different from typical Northern Thai food, try Mr. Odd's Salt-Roasted Duck. I, mr.hotsia, guarantee that you won’t easily find this taste and price anywhere else. Plus, you get to experience the authentic local atmosphere in downtown Chiang Rai.

Eating and Strolling Experience in Chiang Rai

Chiang Rai is not just a city with the beautiful White Temple or the iconic Clock Tower (read more atWat Rong Khun, the White Temple of Chiang RaiandChiang Rai Clock Tower) but also a city full of unique local eateries like Mr. Odd's crispy skin and tender meat duck dish.

I stayed at Sooknirand Hotel near the Chiang Rai Clock Tower (read reviewAffordable and Good Hotels in Chiang Rai), which made it very convenient to explore the morning market, evening market, and weekend walking streets “Kad Chiang Rai Ram Luek” on Saturdays and “Thanon Khon Muan” on Sundays, where you can truly experience local life and culture.

After strolling downtown and tasting local food, I recommend resting your stomach at Lista Cafe. This place is a great spot for travelers who want to escape the city bustle and recharge with a cold drink or a slice of cake.
