azago Mookata @ Doi Pha Hee, Chiang Rai: Savor a delicious meal atop the mountain with an unforgettable view
When talking about Chiang Rai, many people probably think of the beautiful Wat Rong Khun or the iconic clock tower in the city center. But this time, mr.hotsia wants to invite everyone to escape the hustle and bustle and head up the mountain to experience the ultimate mookata atazago Mookata @ Doi Pha Heewhich is one of the restaurants I was most impressed with during my latest trip to Chiang Rai.
Doi Pha Hee is located not far from Chiang Rai city. If you have ever driven around Doi Chang or followed the Doi Chang coffee trail as I recommended in the articleDriving Tour of Doi Changyou will know that the road up to Doi Pha Hee is not too difficult. The route is slightly winding, but the atmosphere on both sides is full of fresh nature and warm hill tribe villages.
Upon arriving at azago Mookata on the summit of Doi Pha Hee, the first thing that impresses is the vast panoramic view. The cool weather is perfect for relaxing and enjoying hot mookata. The restaurant is designed with an open layout, offering a full view of the surrounding mountains. Just the atmosphere alone earns a perfect ten from me, mr.hotsia.
As for the food, the mookata here is not ordinary. I recommend trying the mixed pork set which includes pork belly, pork loin, and chicken marinated in a special sauce, along with a full tray of fresh, crisp vegetables. The mookata grilled over hot charcoal emits an enticing aroma. Another special feature is the homemade dipping sauce, which is rich in flavor, slightly spicy, and a bit sweet, perfectly balancing the richness of the pork.
For me, eating mookata on a mountain with cool air and a gentle breeze is a rare experience. It feels like the heart travels along with the taste buds. Every bite is pure happiness. For those coming in groups or with friends, the atmosphere here is very suitable because the restaurant has large tables to accommodate many people and soft background music that adds warmth.
While waiting for your food, I suggest taking a walk around Doi Pha Hee to see the lifestyle of various hill tribes who still preserve their customs in an interesting way. Some houses have small coffee shops selling fresh coffee from the farms, giving you an extra boost for your journey.
If you are planning to visit Chiang Rai and want a different experience from city sightseeing, I recommend staying in Chiang Rai city where there are many affordable and good hotels to choose from, such asSuknirand Hotelwhere I have stayed and found it worth the price under 500 baht. It is close to the clock tower and the night market, and traveling to Doi Pha Hee is very convenient.
After a satisfying meal at azago Mookata, you might be interested in strolling around Chiang Rai city, which is equally charming. There is the Saturday Walking Street “Kad Chiang Rai Ram Luek,” the Sunday Walking Street, and the lively Night Bazaar.Strolling in Chiang Rai Citywill help complete your trip perfectly.
mr.hotsia wants to remind you that Chiang Rai is not only famous for its well-known tourist spots but also for simple delicious food like mookata on Doi Pha Hee, which is a charm you must try at least once in your life. Especially when tasting it with mountain views and cool weather like this, I guarantee you will want to come back again.
For those interested in seeing the atmosphere and how to enjoy mookata at azago on Doi Pha Hee clearly, I recommend watching the video onYouTube “azago Mookata @ Doi Pha Hee, Chiang Rai”where I personally share my experience from there.
Finally, I wish everyone a safe journey and fun discovering new sides of Chiang Rai, a city more charming than you think.
