Mr.hotsia@Pha Hi Sip Coffee at Ban Pha Hi, Chiang Rai
Chiang Rai is a small city full of charm and stories waiting for travelers like me, mr.hotsia, who has experienced it many times. This time, I want to introduce friends to another peaceful corner that many may not be familiar with: “Ban Pha Hi,” a quality coffee growing area in Chiang Rai province. I had the chance to visit and sip fragrant coffee amidst the atmosphere of the hill tribe community up close.
Ban Pha Hi is located not far from Chiang Rai city. If you plan to visit Chiang Rai, don’t forget to drive about 40-50 kilometers out of the city along winding roads through rice fields and lush green mountains. This route will take you to a hill tribe village that grows coffee at high altitudes. The weather is cool and pleasant all year round, perfect for relaxing, experiencing local life, and enjoying fresh coffee here.
From my experience, mr.hotsia, I stopped by Ban Pha Hi Coffee Shop, a small and simple place full of the owner’s and community’s dedication. The coffee here is not just a drink but a product of love and care, grown by hand and heart. Pha Hi mountain coffee has a smooth, mellow taste, not as bitter as typical coffees on the market. Importantly, it is organically grown without chemicals. The quality made me sip several cups without realizing it.
Besides the coffee, the atmosphere here made me feel like I had stepped into another world. The sound of birds singing, the breeze through large trees, and the simple, close-knit lifestyle of the locals made me want to stay here longer without rushing. Ban Pha Hi is ideal for those wanting to escape the hustle of Chiang Rai city or those who want to truly learn about hill tribe life.
If anyone is interested in trying Ban Pha Hi coffee, I recommend planning a trip to Chiang Rai with a 1-2 night stay in the city to have enough time for a relaxed round trip drive.
