Seoul U Korean Hotpot Chiang Rai, the ultimate delight in Northern Thailand
Hello, I'm mr.hotsia. Today, I'll take you to experience authentic Korean hotpot in Chiang Rai atSeoul U Korean Hotpotlocated not far from the Chiang Rai Provincial Central Stadium on Pho Khun Road, Soi Pho Khun 7. This is one of my favorite Korean restaurants because not only does it offer rich, authentic flavors, but the atmosphere is also friendly, making you feel like you're dining in Seoul itself.
As a frequent traveler, I know how exciting it is to find a favorite restaurant in a small province like Chiang Rai. Seoul U perfectly meets this need. I've visited this restaurant many times since my first try because I wanted to find delicious food to complete my favorite Chiang Rai food trip.
Atmosphere and Must-Try Menu
Seoul U offers both indoor seating and a comfortable outdoor zone, perfect for Chiang Rai's pleasant weather like when I dined there in the evening. The lively atmosphere includes customers' laughter and the fragrant aroma of hotpot broth wafting through the air.
The must-try dish I recommend isKorean Hotpotserved in a rich, authentic Korean broth with pork, beef, fresh vegetables, and chewy konjac noodles. Importantly, the restaurant also offersCorn Dogin Korean style as an additional order. For fans of Korean dramas, this snack is well-known and definitely a must-try.
I reserved a seat in advance by calling 090 320 7762 because the place gets quite busy in the evening, especially with customers who, like me, fell in love with the taste from their first visit.
Connected to a Complete Chiang Rai Travel Experience
If you're planning a trip to Chiang Rai and haven't decided where to stay yet, I recommend checking outAffordable and Good Hotels in Chiang Rai Citywhere I stayed before, such as Suknirand Hotel near the Chiang Rai Clock Tower. The location is convenient for travel, and it's not far from Seoul U for hotpot dining.
After enjoying Korean hotpot, strolling around Chiang Rai city is another great option.Saturday Walking Street “Kad Chiang Rai Ram Luek”is close to both the accommodation and Seoul U. I really enjoy walking here to experience Chiang Rai’s lifestyle and find extra snacks from various stalls offering both local and modern treats.
On-Site Experience from mr.hotsia
I remember the first time I tasted Korean hotpot at Seoul U; it felt like traveling to Korea for real. The broth was rich and flavorful without overpowering spices, so good I kept going back for more. The fresh vegetables and meat were high quality with no unpleasant smell at all.
While eating, I liked observing the people around me—many were families or groups of friends who came specifically to enjoy Korean food. The outdoor seating area is comfortable and perfect for those who enjoy the cool Chiang Rai evening breeze.
Additionally, for those wanting to enrich their Chiang Rai trip, I invite you to visitWat Rong Khunthe world-famous White Temple, or take a drive to Doi Chang for beautiful views and delicious coffee—both great ideas. (I have detailed this in another article you can read.)
