Mom Takes Me to Eat Shabushi Buffet at the New Big C in Chiang Rai

When talking about Chiang Rai, many people probably think of the beautiful Wat Rong Khun or the peaceful northern city atmosphere full of culture. But this time, I, mr.hotsia, want to share my experience eating Shabushi buffet at the new Big C branch in Chiang Rai, a newly opened restaurant that my mom and I just visited fresh and hot.

This Big C branch in Chiang Rai is located in a very convenient spot, close to the city center where I often stay, such as the Suknirand Hotel next to the Chiang Rai Clock Tower.Affordable and Good Hotels in Chiang Rai CityThis place reminds me of relaxing in Chiang Rai city with its morning market, evening market, and Saturday walking street called “Kad Chiang Rai Ram Luek,” full of authentic local atmosphere.

That day, my mom and I decided to try the Shabushi buffet at Big C because we wanted to eat something varied and satisfying in a relaxed atmosphere. I heard this place just opened and has fresh ingredients and a wide variety of soup flavors to choose from. The trip here is very easy since Big C is not far from the city center; you can drive or take a taxi comfortably.

Upon entering the Shabushi restaurant, the atmosphere looked clean and modern, with plenty of tables for large families and groups of friends. We ordered the all-inclusive buffet, which included fresh pork, beef, and exciting seafood. My mom likes fresh vegetables and the many soup options such as Tom Yum soup, black broth, and clear broth, along with a variety of delicious dipping sauces to choose from.

What impressed me was the truly fresh ingredients, whether thinly sliced pork or large shrimp that, when boiled, were sweet and crisp. The soup was flavorful, enhancing the taste of the meat and vegetables incredibly. My mom smiled while eating and said, “This is exactly the kind of Shabu I want to eat after a long day of walking around.”

Besides Shabu, there were also snacks like gyoza, sushi, and small desserts served perfectly to finish the meal. I personally enjoyed the fresh sushi here because some pieces had thick, chewy salmon slices, unlike typical buffets where the fish is thin and barely noticeable.

After a satisfying meal, my mom and I took a little walk around Big C. I saw there was a cozy coffee shop and a supermarket fully stocked. Anyone visiting Chiang Rai and staying in the city center as I recommendedAffordable and Good Hotels in Chiang Rai Citycan comfortably spend their evening here.

Chiang Rai is not only good for nature or beautiful temples but also excels in food. As I mentioned, Chiang Rai has many markets and local restaurants to choose from, including Roy Han, famous for its braised beef basil,Watch the clip hereor the San Khi Bao duck noodle shop that I once stopped by to taste.Watch the clip hereBut if you want to eat comfortably and get good value, Big C Shabushi is a great choice.

It’s easy to get to, close to the city center, and after eating, you can stroll aroundthe walking street in Chiang Rai city centeror stop for coffee at the Yellow Truck Coffee shop near the Clock Tower,Yellow Truck Coffee, Clock Tower, Chiang Rai Citywhich is another landmark I really like.

Finally, I must say that eating Shabu at Big C Chiang Rai this time was an impressive experience for both me and my mom because we got to enjoy delicious food in a convenient and warm atmosphere, perfect for families or groups of friends wanting a change from regular restaurants.
