Full Japanese Meal Before Heading Back to Chiang Rai

For those who have visited Chiang Rai, you probably know that this place offers more than just beautiful nature, famous temples, or a charming small-town atmosphere. It also hides a variety of delicious foods to discover. Especially for mr.hotsia, on my last trip before leaving Chiang Rai, I chose to indulge in a full Japanese meal because I felt that there are quality Japanese restaurants here with reasonable prices and flavors that impressed me as much as those in Bangkok.

Chiang Rai, which is not far from the neighboring country's border, is a small, warm, and peaceful town. Yet, there are many Japanese restaurants open, especially in downtown Chiang Rai around the Clock Tower, which is the city center. I stayed atSuknirand Hotellocated near the Clock Tower and the morning and evening markets. Besides being convenient for accommodation, it is also close to many restaurants that I tried before flying back.

On the day I went, I strolled around Chiang Rai in the evening atSaturday Walking Street “Kad Chiang Rai Ram Luek”It was a time when the market was full of people from various ethnicities, offering both local and international foods. Among the Japanese restaurants I found, one stood out for both its ingredients and taste. It is a place that locals in Chiang Rai often visit.

The signature dishes I ordered were fresh sushi and sashimi. The sweet and juicy fish from the sea was delivered very well. The Japanese rice was soft and fragrant with sake aroma, making every bite smooth and delightful. There were also recommended dishes like crispy tempura that wasn’t oily and a mellow miso soup that perfectly complemented the meal.

For mr.hotsia, besides taste, the atmosphere of the restaurant is also important. The place I chose had traditional Japanese decor, giving the feeling of sitting in Tokyo. The staff were polite, attentive, and friendly in recommending the menu, making my meal not just eating but a memorable experience.

Getting to the restaurant was very convenient because it was not far from Suknirand Hotel where I stayed. For those interested in affordable yet comfortable accommodation in downtown Chiang Rai, I recommend checking outAffordable and Good Hotels in Chiang Raiwhich I have reviewed before. This hotel is close to the market and walking street, making it easy to stroll and taste food.

After filling up with Japanese food, I didn’t forget to stop by the famous Yellow Truck Coffee near the Clock Tower to experience the authentic Chiang Rai atmosphere and taste the high-quality coffee the city is known for.Yellow Truck Coffee, Clock Tower, Chiang RaiAnother spot I recommend stopping by.

For those who have more time, Chiang Rai also offers other interesting attractions and activities, such as visiting the beauty ofWat Rong Khunwhich is a beautiful white temple created by Chalermchai Kositpipat, or driving up to enjoy the cool air and scenic views ofDoi Changfamous for Doi Chang coffee. I have also recommended routes and accommodations in articles that will make you want to travel immediately.

In summary, ending a trip to Chiang Rai with a delicious and quality Japanese meal is an impression that mr.hotsia wants to share. For anyone coming to Chiang Rai looking for a good Japanese restaurant, follow my footsteps. I guarantee you will taste extraordinary flavors in this peaceful and warm city.
