Krabi travel guide by mr.hotsia
When talking about Krabi province, many people think of clear seas, fine white sandy beaches, and beautiful islands that look like they came straight out of a postcard. But for mr.hotsia, Krabi is not just about the sea. Krabi is a province full of stories about local lifestyles, bustling fresh markets, and local food that is truly satisfying to eat.
I started my trip in Krabi town, which is not far from the airport. Traveling here is convenient and comfortable, perfect for those who want to experience a small town atmosphere that still retains natural beauty and authentic Thai simplicity. At the Krabi morning market (Krabi morning market), I tasted fresh local dishes from vendors, including Khanom Jeen with curry sauce and seasonal fruits. I can say the ingredients here are really fresh, and the market atmosphere is filled with the fragrant scents of herbs and spices that excite you every time you arrive.
One of the things that impressed me the most was Krabi’s local food. You shouldn’t miss Cook Thevada, a famous street food stall in Krabi town. Their stir-fried holy basil with rice is flavorful, well-balanced, and made with fresh ingredients in every dish (Satisfying meal at Cook Thevada, Krabi street food). I have visited several times and have never been disappointed.
After enjoying local food, I want to take you to experience the nighttime atmosphere at the Krabi night market (Krabi night market). This market is perfect for those who want to stroll leisurely, find snacks, or shop for souvenirs with many options. The lively yet friendly atmosphere, walking along paths lit by orange lights and traditional music, lets you see Krabi’s way of life from a unique perspective.
Krabi is also famous for beautiful island trips and clear waters where you can see coral reefs below. During my stay at Ao Nang, I chose to go snorkeling and visit islands such asChicken IslandandPoda Island, which are not far from the town. The sea here is so clear you can almost see schools of fish swimming around you, and the beaches remain very natural. Besides snorkeling, during my 2021 school break trip (2021 school break trip: Exploring Phang Nga, Krabi, Phuket, Koh Yao, Panyi, Lee Pae, snorkeling and coral viewing at Ao Nang), I also went hiking and visited small communities that gave me a deep understanding of local lifestyles.
For those who enjoy a complete experience of sightseeing, eating, and strolling in town, Krabi offers a variety of activities—from paddling a boat in Bang Nang canal to rock climbing at Railay, or just relaxing at a seaside café, which is incredibly enjoyable. Most importantly, the peace and naturalness still remain, making me feel fully recharged every time I visit.
If you want to see the real atmosphere of Krabi town and local food like mr.hotsia, I recommend watching the videos I made, which includeKrabi travel guideand a clip of eating Krabi Hainanese chicken rice showing the deliciousness and local eating style (Krabi Hainanese Chicken Rice)
In summary, Krabi is not only about beautiful seas but also full of cultural charm and delicious food. mr.hotsia believes everyone who visits will have a diverse and unforgettable experience, whether walking through the morning market, the night market, or exploring the sea with beautiful islands. Krabi is always waiting for you to experience it yourself.
