Good Morning Phang Nga
If you ask me, mr.hotsia, what I like most about Phang Nga, the simple answer is the “morning” here. The tranquility embraced by nature and the refreshing cool sea breeze from Phang Nga Bay fills the heart with renewed energy before starting a new day.
One morning in Phang Nga, I woke up early to truly experience the atmosphere of this town. I started at the morning market in Khao Lak Bang Niang, a market that is the heart of the local community. Here, you will see the daily life of villagers accustomed to shopping from as early as 5 a.m. I walked around to see fresh seafood from the sea—shrimp, shellfish, crabs, fish—just caught. The scent of the sea mixed with spices from curry shops and the local signature fried chicken filled the air.Breakfast of Khao Lak Bang Niang localsAs I mentioned in a previous article, it still leaves a lasting impression.
After fueling up with a simple local breakfast, I took a stroll around Phang Nga Bay. Early in the morning, the sea is so clear you can see small fish swimming. The sky gradually changes from purple to soft orange, and gentle sunlight shines through the rocks and small islands scattered around. It’s a view I never tire of seeing again and again.
If you want to fully experience this, I recommend visiting Ko Yao Yai. There are resorts and homestays that offer the chance to soak in hot springs while enjoying the full view of Phang Nga Bay.Sweet Ko Yao Yai: Stay, soak in hot springs with a view of Phang Nga Bay, and explore the island by motorbikeI have stayed there before, and I can say it truly feels like a reset for both mind and body.
Besides the natural beauty and lifestyle, traveling in the morning is also challenging and fun. For those wanting to try public transportation, I have written about several bus stations in Phang Nga, such asKuraburi Bus StationandTakuapa Bus Stationwhich are good starting points for exploring this province on your own.
Back at the fresh seafood market in Khao Lak, I never miss the chance to browse and buy fresh seafood to cook at my accommodation or bargain with vendors to grill it fresh for immediate eating. The freshness of the seafood here reminds me of the richness of nature and the deep connection Phang Nga people have with the sea.Khao Lak Fresh Seafood MarketIt’s another spot I highly recommend for food lovers not to miss.
If you want to experience Phang Nga more deeply, I suggest trying the local homestay life atKo Phrathong HomestayHere, I learned that simplicity and living in harmony with nature is what many seek in today’s world.
The mornings in Phang Nga are not just about beautiful sunlight and sea but about immersing in the culture, lifestyle, and warmth hidden in every story of the people here. I, mr.hotsia, believe such peace is hard to find in big cities, and that’s why I keep returning to Phang Nga to recharge my spirit every morning.
