Traveling the 3 Southern Border Provinces 7/15: Patani Rice Salad, Hotel Recommendations, Dining and Traveling in Patani

I, mr.hotsia, had the opportunity to visit Patani once again on the 7th episode of my 15-part trip through the 3 southern border provinces. I aimed to capture the local lifestyle and authentic flavors here. To me, Patani is not just an ordinary southern border province but a city with charm hidden in its cultural diversity and way of life. Today, I will share my dining and travel experience featuring the signature dish “Patani Rice Salad” along with recommending some good hotels as options for those who want a chill travel style like mine.

Patani Rice Salad: A Flavor Not to Miss

When it comes to local food in Patani, I must say “Rice Salad” is one of the dishes that truly reflects the taste and culture of the Patani people. The rice salad here is not just ordinary mixed rice but a perfect blend of various side dishes. It includes fresh crispy vegetables, the unique budu sauce, and fully loaded side dishes like dried shrimp, peanuts, and fresh herbs that add a bold and harmonious flavor in every bite.

I, mr.hotsia, tried the rice salad at a famous shop in the central Patani market. The taste was truly unique. The rich but not overly salty budu sauce mixed with the perfectly balanced sweet and sour papaya salad dressing made this rice salad special. The harmonious flavors combined with fresh crispy vegetables and carefully prepared spices make this a dish I highly recommend not to miss when visiting Patani.

Recommended Hotels for Relaxation in Patani

After enjoying the delicious rice salad, I, mr.hotsia, recommend staying at a comfortable hotel that offers easy access to the local lifestyle. A hotel in central Patani city that is clean and provides friendly service, conveniently located near markets and many local restaurants. I chose to stay here because I wanted to take evening walks in the community and experience the old town atmosphere.

Besides spacious and affordable rooms, this place also offers recommendations for food and travel routes in Patani city. This allowed me to explore and taste Patani Rad Na, which was so delicious I had to share it ina previous articleand also to visit the Kru Se Mosque, which has a history of over 200 years, which I have shared in a videoKru Se Mosque or Sultan Muzaffar Shah Mosquethat I filmed myself.

Lifestyle and Local Markets in Patani

The markets in Patani are another favorite place for mr.hotsia to walk around because they offer not only food but also stories and cultural vibes from both Thai Muslims and Thai Buddhists living together harmoniously. I strolled through the morning market, met vendors who greeted me warmly with laughter, tried local desserts and fresh fruits and vegetables from the area. Seeing this way of life made my travel experience more meaningful.

Dining and Traveling in Patani: A Perfect Blend of Flavor and Atmosphere

Besides rice salad, Patani also has many other delicious dishes I have captured and shared, such as Patani Rad Na with its unique recipe, which I have written about in detail inthe Patani Rad Na articleand also stir-fried soy sauce noodles full of rich flavors that I recommend trying yourself.

Summary of Patani Travel Experience by mr.hotsia

For me, Patani is not just a southern border city full of history and culture but also a place where the food flavors and lifestyle make you feel warm and lively. It is one of the destinations I, mr.hotsia, recommend for those who want to open their hearts to new experiences and get a close and sincere encounter.

If you are interested in trying the delicious rice salad, staying in a comfortable hotel in the city center, and strolling through the old market with a local atmosphere that is not crowded, Patani is the answer that will not disappoint.
