Tai Yong Noodles, the delicious taste in the heart of Sakon Nakhon that mr.hotsia must share

When talking about Sakon Nakhon, many people probably think of Phra That Choeng Chum, Nong Han Lake, or spicy Isan food. But for me, mr.hotsia, there is another noodle shop I must visit when coming to Sakon Nakhon, which is “Tai Yong Noodles,” located not far from the city center at the coordinates17°09'38.7"N 104°09'10.7"EI put these coordinates into Google Maps so anyone who wants to follow can easily find it

Tai Yong Noodles is not just an ordinary shop in Sakon Nakhon. After eating there, I felt this is the real taste of noodles that truly satisfies. The broth is rich and flavorful, no need for much extra seasoning. What I like most about this place is the “grilled green chili” served alongside the noodles, which adds a fragrant aroma and a unique flavor different from typical noodles.

The fresh vegetables served with the noodles are also special. You can pick and eat as you like, including morning glory, Chinese cabbage, and other clean, crisp fresh veggies that complete the noodle flavor perfectly.

My favorite dishes to order are the “braised beef,” tender and melts in your mouth, and the “blanched offal,” cooked just right—not tough or gamey. Paired with the smooth broth, I must say it’s incredibly delicious. I’m not exaggerating because I wanted to order many more bowls.

If you have a chance to visit Sakon Nakhon, try stopping by to taste the noodles here, and you’ll realize how charming local food flavors can be. I even made a video eating Tai Yong Noodles for you to watch.Click here to watchIn case anyone wants to see the full atmosphere and taste before visiting

Sakon Nakhon, a small city full of interest

Sakon Nakhon is much smaller than I expected. The city area is less than 4 square kilometers but full of lively culture and charm. Nong Han Lake, not far from Tai Yong Noodles, is a beloved relaxation spot for locals. I, mr.hotsia, had the chance to sit by the lake, watch the sunset, and feel the cool breeze passing through the city. It’s an atmosphere hard to find elsewhere.

Besides delicious food, Sakon Nakhon also has important attractions likePhra That Choeng Chumwhich I recommend visiting at least once. This ancient stupa built over the Buddha’s footprint is a sacred place highly respected by tourists and Buddhists alike.

For getting around Sakon Nakhon city, I, mr.hotsia, suggest trying a slow ride on a tuk-tuk to enjoy the atmosphere and local lifestyle, truly experiencing the essence of this small city.

The uniqueness of Tai Yong Noodles in the Isan context

Tai Yong Noodles is not just an ordinary noodle shop but clearly reflects Isan identity. Besides the signature grilled green chili, the use of fresh blanched offal and a variety of fresh vegetables shows the meticulous home-style cooking of true Isan people.

From my visit to the province ofSisaketwhich is nearby, experiencing the ancient Khmer culture and famous stone castles, I found that Isan food here is diverse and intensely flavored. But Tai Yong Noodles in Sakon Nakhon is perfectly balanced and easy for everyone to enjoy.

If you want to try another style of Isan food beyond just larb, somtum, or grilled pork, stop by Tai Yong Noodles. I guarantee you’ll love it just as much.

Travel and additional recommendations from mr.hotsia

Getting to Tai Yong Noodles is very convenient as it’s located in Sakon Nakhon city center. Those coming from Bangkok or nearby provinces can easily use buses or private cars. I once traveled by bus from Bangkok and then took a songthaew into the city without any hassle.

After a satisfying meal at Tai Yong Noodles, I recommend taking a stroll at the Sakon Nakhon morning market, a lively place full of local food and goods at very affordable prices.Sisaket Morning Marketis another interesting spot for those wanting to experience authentic Isan lifestyle.

If you’re a foodie like me, mr.hotsia, besides Tai Yong Noodles, there’s also a great Korean BBQ place calledPhet Lamphu Korean BBQin Sisaket to try. It’s another delicious and satisfying option.
