Last month I traveled to Surin Province and visited the local fresh market there. That experience inspired me to visit a morning fresh market in Cambodia. Today, I have fulfilled that wish at the fresh market in Siem Reap Province. I rode my bicycle there around 3:30 PM, so there weren't many vendors. I think the Khmer people have abundant food. Judging by the market, there were many fish for sale. Besides fish, there were also snakes, snails, and shrimp.
Everything was fully available, but it was strange that there were no fish sold at the shops. The shops catering to tourists did not have fish, perhaps because most tourists are not familiar with fish, unlike Thai tourists. There were dried fish and snakehead fish like those from Paet Riu.
