Before development increased in Cambodia, everything changed including traditional houses. For example, in Bang Bo area where I live, 30 years ago there were many wooden houses and very few concrete ones. Today, they are rarely seen (one of Mr. Hotsia's houses). Cambodian houses are also changing rapidly and will be completely different in a few years. Therefore, I have preserved these historical images for the future when they no longer exist. We can look back at Khmer homes from 100 years ago (this website will last until then).
The houses you see were photographed during a trip from Siem Reap to Kampong Thom. I, mr.hotsia, sat by the window. Most photos were taken by my friend Charuchai Iamaram (Nong), who joined this week's trip. Many thanks to him here. You will notice that Khmer houses are still mostly two-story wooden houses, with some starting to be concrete. mr.hotsia August mr.hotsia recommends hotels in Siem Reap Upon arrival near Kampong Thom
