Get ready for an exciting trip. On my previous visits to Siem Reap, I usually stayed at Shadow of Angkor Guesthouse as I have recommended before. This time, I tried looking for another hotel after noticing that some rooms there had air conditioning that wasn’t very cold. I found Reaksmey Chanreas Hotel, which is located next to the Capital bus station. This hotel has many rooms, meets high standards, has cold air conditioning, WIFI, and most importantly, is affordable. A similar room in other hotels would probably cost 15 USD.
But I stayed here for only 10 USD. It’s considered affordable and good enough that mr.hotsia recommends booking tickets to see the Apsara dance from this hotel. They don’t charge you in advance and offer a cheaper price than buying at the restaurant. This price includes a tuk-tuk ride to the restaurant where the Apsara dance is performed. Plus, you get front seats. The hotel is next to the bus to Poipet at a low price. Next time, I will always stay here and take the Capital bus from Siem Reap to Poipet because it’s cheap and good. mr.hotsia August 2012
