For the first time, I found it difficult to find accommodation in Guangzhou due to the language barrier as they speak Chinese which I do not speak.
The only way to travel conveniently and without problems in Guangzhou is to book a hotel in advance, then note down the name, address, phone number, and ideally the hotel's name in Chinese characters. This way, you can show it to a taxi driver to take you directly to the hotel after you get off the plane. For those who do not speak Chinese, I recommend this method. I arrived in Guangzhou at night, traveling by car from Nanning, then walked to find accommodation in the alley on the left side of the transport station.
That area is an export goods zone, so if tourists with backpacks go in, they are likely to be told it's full, especially if they don't speak Chinese. They don't speak English, and Thai is even less likely to be understood. Therefore, I recommend staying in other areas. The area around the Chen family home should be a good neighborhood for tourists. The transport area is where merchants come to buy goods in Guangzhou. When I stayed in Guangzhou city, I stayed at Hong Qlao Hotel (Linda), No.104 Liwan Road, Guangzhou, China.
This accommodation is not far from the Chen family home, which also has a metro station in front, making it convenient to travel to other places. This hotel has many Arab guests. Cleanliness is okay. In the bathroom of the room I stayed in, the toilet flush did not work, so I had to call the housekeeper who I could not communicate with well, but it was resolved. Regarding accommodation in Shenzhen, unfortunately, I did not stay there, only took the high-speed train to Shenzhen in the morning and returned to Guangzhou at night, but I have researched that there are many accommodations in Shenzhen.
The area where we went to buy mobile phones and electronic devices also has accommodations. Prices range from 1000-1500 baht per night for a comfortable stay.
