Sacred Spring Temple Bali: A profound experience with faith and underground nature

Bali, a small island in Indonesia that many Thai people may know well as a land of Hindu culture and strong surf beaches. But for me, mr.hotsia, Bali is not only about the sea or the ocean waves. There are also sacred places full of mystery and natural power worth exploring, such asSacred Spring Templewhich I had the opportunity to visit recently.

This temple is located not far from the Mount Batur volcano crater viewpoint, a major landmark in Bali that tourists should visit together. I booked a rental car for a day to tour the island, and this was one of the places I chose to stop by because I wanted to see with my own eyes and feel the faith of the Balinese people here.

Underground spring water and profound rituals

What makes this temple stand out and different from others is the clean water that springs continuously from underground. Surrounded by a slightly mossy environment, this water is not just ordinary water but sacred water that Balinese people believe has strong healing power and great purity.

I walked around the temple and saw locals lining up orderly to bathe in this sacred water. Some used the water to rub on their heads, some bathed, and some even drank it for good luck. From my direct experience, I did not see many tourists as I had expected; instead, it was the devout Balinese who strictly participated in these rituals.

Inside the temple, there is also a Brahmin priest performing holy water sprinkling for visitors, accompanied by the distinctive sound of bells, which I have seen in many Hindu temples in Bali. This chanting shows deep respect and prayers to the Hindu gods. It felt natural and reflected the deep-rooted faith of the Balinese people, similar to the Buddhist traditions and rituals in our homeland.

Atmosphere and temple visit

Dress code here is very important. I, mr.hotsia, must say that out of respect for the place, tourists must wear a sarong covering pants or skirts that are not revealing. The temple offers sarong rentals or sales at affordable prices. There is also a modest entrance fee to support the sustainable maintenance of this sacred site.

Around the temple, there are other temples that tourists often visit together because they are conveniently close. If you plan to travel Bali on your own like me, you can arrange your route to cover sacred places and interesting natural sites perfectly.

Bali: An island of deep faith and Hindu culture

Speaking of Bali, I, mr.hotsia, must say this island has profound cultural and religious depth. The Balinese strictly practice their religion, with household shrines in almost every home. Often, you will see locals carrying beautiful offering trays placed at various spots—front of houses, streets, or temples—showing respect to gods and spirits according to Hindu beliefs passed down through generations.

Travel and tips for visitors

For me, mr.hotsia, renting a car for one day is the most convenient way to explore Bali independently because you can stop at any place you like. The Sacred Spring Temple is one of the spots I truly want everyone to experience firsthand.

Don’t forget to prepare appropriate clothing as this temple emphasizes modesty and respect. Also, be ready to embrace the Hindu ceremony with chanting and bell ringing, which will help you understand and feel the genuine faith of the Balinese people.

Summary: Sacred Spring Temple, a must-visit destination when in Bali

The Sacred Spring Temple in Bali is not just an ordinary tourist spot but a place full of faith and natural power that impressed me, mr.hotsia, deeply. The clear, cool water springing from underground is not only clean but also spiritually meaningful to the Balinese. This place is perfect for those who want to experience authentic Hindu culture and find peace in a calm atmosphere, unlike typical busy tourist sites.
