Although it is in the tropical south, the elevation lowers the temperature significantly, making the atmosphere similar to mountain areas in Thailand. From Ubon, there are regular buses to Pakse, Laos, which are convenient and affordable. Upon arrival in Pakse, you can take another vehicle to Pakseong, about 50 kilometers away. This route is slightly winding uphill, making the atmosphere cool and different from typical lowlands.
