Shopping Mall Vientiane: A place to relax and dine in the Lao capital you shouldn't miss

I, mr.hotsia, have been to Vientiane many times but never had the chance to stroll insideShopping Mall Vientianeuntil this time when I intended to experience the shopping and dining atmosphere inside the department store here. Vientiane is a city I travel to almost every month, but due to the hot midday weather, escaping into an air-conditioned mall is a great idea.

The shopping mall in Vientiane is not as grand as those in Bangkok or Chiang Mai, but it is sufficiently complete and comfortable. There are many fashion shops, clothing, shoes, and various goods to browse just like malls in Thailand. Importantly, the atmosphere is quiet and not too crowded, perfect for a leisurely walk and relaxation.

I went up to the upper floor of the mall, which is the Food Center zone. There are many seats and the air conditioning is very cool, ideal for escaping the hot sun outside. The food menu here is diverse, including traditional Lao dishes, Thai food, and various fast meals that are tasty and affordable. I had a satisfying meal for just a few tens of baht.

After eating, I went down to the ground floor to find something to pass the time. I found a scratch lottery stall to try my luck. I bought a ticket hoping to be lucky as many say, but in the end, I lost as usual. Haha. It's a small fun activity that anyone can try.

For those traveling independently to Vientiane with free time, I, mr.hotsia, recommend stopping by this shopping mall. It's not just about shopping but also experiencing a different relaxing atmosphere in Vientiane compared to walking along the Mekong River or visiting coffee shops. I have written about this in an articleTraveling Vientianethat this city is great for evening walks along the Mekong River, but during the hot daytime, escaping to an air-conditioned mall with delicious food is the perfect choice.

Additionally, I noticed that Lao shoppers here have interesting fashion styles different from ours. It's a great opportunity to observe Vientiane street fashion up close. Those who enjoy photography or observing local lifestyles will find interesting shots here.

Transportation and Surrounding Atmosphere of the Shopping Mall

Shopping Mall Vientiane is located in the city center, easily accessible by tuk-tuk or taxi from key spots like Pha That Luang or Wat Sisaket, which I have recommended in my articles.Wat Sisaket VientianeIt is also close to the Vientiane morning market, which offers fresh food and various souvenirs to try before relaxing in the mall.

If you want to taste good fresh coffee while strolling in the city, I recommend stopping byTrue Coffee Vientianewhich is not far from the shopping mall. It's a coffee shop I like to sit in and watch people pass by comfortably.

Summary of Experience and Recommendations from mr.hotsia

I, mr.hotsia, conclude that the shopping mall in Vientiane is a great place to walk and relax during the very hot daytime. It feels like a small oasis in the city offering cool comfort and a variety of affordable food. It is also a spot to observe modern Lao fashion and lifestyle up close.

For tourists visiting Vientiane independently or continuing their trip from nearby cities like Vang Vieng (Read more about Vang Vieng) or Luang Prabang, stopping by this shopping mall adds a nice touch to the trip.

Finally, if you have never tried walking or dining in the Vientiane shopping mall, I, mr.hotsia, invite you to experience it yourself. You will realize that traveling in Vientiane is not just about the Mekong riverside or temples but also many chill spots waiting for you to discover.
