Real perspectives from Mr.Hotsia's field with hotels in Vientiane

Speaking of Vientiane, the capital city of Laos, I, Mr.Hotsia, have had the chance to visit several times. The first feeling I get from here is the Mekong River flowing through the city with a simple yet lively atmosphere. Although it is not a large city like Luang Prabang or Vang Vieng, Vientiane has its own unique charm that I really like. That is walking along the Mekong River, which is a moment I recommend everyone not to miss, especially at sunset. The big red sun slowly disappears below the horizon accompanied by the sound of the wind passing by. The Mekong here looks peaceful but full of life.

The last time I went to Vientiane, I stayed at Pomprasert Hotel, located near the Fountain Roundabout in the city center. I must say it is very suitable for those who want affordable accommodation but with comfort and a friendly atmosphere. This hotel offers breakfast service, and importantly, there is a bicycle rental shop nearby. I used cycling to explore the city in the cool morning breeze before the weather got hotter. It was an experience I really enjoyed in Vientiane.

Why choose to stay here? Mr.Hotsia shares

I chose Pomprasert Hotel because of its convenient location and reasonable price for a traveler like me. Additionally, the accommodation is close to important tourist spots such asPha That LuangandWat Si Saketwhich is the only temple that survived destruction during the war. I recommend you try walking along the wall of Wat Si Saket, which is an interesting spot rarely seen elsewhere.

After strolling and exploring various temples in the city, I would return to relax at the hotel before heading out to experience the evening atmosphere atthe Mekong Riverside Night MarketHere, there are many restaurants to choose from where you can enjoy the breeze and river views, along with delicious street food to try.

Activities in the city you should not miss

Besides cycling to explore ancient architecture and temples, I usually spend my daytime sipping iced coffee at a famous café calledTrue Coffee Vientianewhich is a meeting point for tourists and locals. This café has cool air conditioning and good Wifi, perfect for relaxing or working during the trip.

For breakfast, Vientiane has an authentic Lao rice soup shop that I really like, located not far from the central market.Vientiane Rice SoupIt is rice porridge with pork offal, minced pork, and spring onions. I think it is a simple dish but with deep flavors and full of warmth like homemade food that reminds me of mornings in this city every time I eat it.

Recommended walking and bicycle rental routes

If you like walking or cycling, I recommend renting a bicycle from a shop near the Fountain Roundabout, then cycling along the newly renovated road beside the Mekong River. You will see Lao people exercising, children playing, and beautiful evening scenery. When you cycle to the Mekong Riverside Night Market, you will get close to the local lifestyle.

For those who want to continue traveling from Vientiane, I recommend going toVang Viengwhich is a popular destination for tourists worldwide. It has beautiful nature with limestone mountains and clear rivers where you can swim and enjoy impressive views. I once traveled from Luang Prabang to here by van passing through Phu Phieng Fa viewpoint, which is another experience I want to share next time.

Summary of impressions from staying in Vientiane

Vientiane is not a big city full of lights and bustle but a city suitable for relaxation and absorbing the slow lifestyle of friendly Lao people. I, Mr.Hotsia, want you to try experiencing walking along the Mekong River, watching the sunset, and relaxing at Pomprasert Hotel, which feels like a second home.
