Laos also has mountains like Luang Namtha, Oudomxay, and Phongsaly.

There are mountains with stupas on top where you can view the city from above. Luang Prabang has Phousi Hill with Chomsi Stupa on top where you can watch the sunrise and sunset. Today, I will run up Phousi Hill to enjoy the evening atmosphere of Luang Prabang. If you have visited Doi Kong Mu or Doi Suthep and come to Luang Prabang, you might imagine Phousi Hill is very high and takes a long time to climb, or wonder if driving up is easier?

Let me clarify that Phousi Hill is a small hill, and it takes only a short time to walk up and down. Climbing Phousi is normal and can be done frequently because it is in the city and takes very little time. I took only about five minutes to run up Phousi Hill. I also recorded a video clip during the 5-minute climb for you to watch below. The view is northeast and the Nam Khan River in Luang Prabang. Lao Airlines takes off from Luang Prabang.

At the top of Phousi Hill, about a hundred meters above ground level, there are several routes. The first is via Wat Phra Hak, which is a gentle slope. The other is a steeper northern route near the Nam Khan River, which I ran up. This route also passes a temple called Wat Phu Bat (Wat Pha). This temple was built in 1395 AD (over 600 years ago, during early Ayutthaya period of Thailand). Upon arrival at the temple, there is a small fee for maintenance before proceeding to the summit.

Before reaching the summit of Phousi Hill (Phou Si, in Lao the letter Phou is used), there is a stupa called Chomsi Stupa. Don't confuse it; I was confused before. For example, in Thailand, Doi Suthep has a stupa called Phra That Doi Suthep, and Doi Kong Mu has Phra That Doi Kong Mu. But here, the Lao simply call it 'Phousi' and the stupa is called Chomsi Stupa. It was built in 1804 and repaired in 1914 during the reign of King Rama VI of Thailand.

(We lost Luang Prabang during the reign of King Rama V). Chomsi Stupa is a viewpoint offering nearly 360-degree views of Luang Prabang. The summit is not very high, allowing close views of Luang Prabang. View from Phousi Hill Luang Prabang Chomsi Stupa Luang Prabang I ran up Phousi thinking it would take at least half an hour, but it was much shorter. I spent some time taking photos at the top before descending towards the Nam Khan River side. I recommend friends, if you have the chance to visit Luang Prabang,

you should definitely climb Phousi Hill. It is not high and takes little time, so don't worry about not being able to make it. The view from the top is beautiful and worth the effort, plus you get to see Chomsi Stupa. Worth it... Mr.Hotsia mr.hotsia Recommended Hotels in Luang Prabang General Information about Luang Prabang (from Wikipedia) Luang Prabang is an ancient city of the Lan Xang Kingdom since its founding, originally named Muang Sua (pronounced Sua). In 1300, Khun Lo, considered the first Lao king, established Muang Sua as the capital of Lan Xang and renamed it Chiang Thong. When King Fa Ngum (1896-1916 BE) returned from Cambodia,

because he and his father had to flee after being expelled by the previous king, who was actually Fa Ngum's grandfather, King Fa Ngum gathered forces in Siem Reap and led thousands of troops to reclaim the throne and establish the kingdom.

Later, during the reign of King Photisarath, the sacred Buddha image Phra Bang, originally enshrined in Vientiane, was brought to Chiang Thong, the capital city, which then became known as Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang was registered as a World Heritage Site because it has many ancient temples, distinctive colonial-style houses, and the town is located at the confluence of the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers amidst beautiful nature.

The people of Luang Prabang are cheerful, friendly, and have beautiful customs and traditions, which meet UNESCO criteria as follows: (ii) - It has had a significant influence promoting continued development in architecture, monuments, sculpture, gardens, and landscapes, as well as related arts or human settlements that occurred at some time or place in the world preserving culture.

It is an outstanding example of a type of building representing cultural, social, artistic, scientific, technological, or industrial development in human history. (v) - It is an outstanding example of human culture, customs, architectural styles, construction methods, or human settlements that are easily deteriorated by social and cultural changes.

While other World Heritage Sites may be registered specifically for archaeological sites, the entire city of Luang Prabang was registered as a heritage of humanity in December and is praised as the best-preserved city in Southeast Asia. Wat Phu Bat Climbing Phousi Hill There is Chomsi Stupa Lao people call it Video of the view on Phousi Chomsi Stupa Descending past Wat Phu Bat monks were chanting so I quietly watched.
