Traveling Don Bang on the way to Li Phi http://www.hotsia.com > Travel Pakse Champasak > Travel Don Bang Route to Li Phi. On this trip to Li Phi with mr.hotsia, I stayed at Don Khong and rented a motorcycle to cross from Don Khong to the head of Don Bang located south of Don Khong. Don Bang is also known as "Don Som." From Don Bang, I rode the motorcycle down to the tail of the island called the tail of Don Som. I was confused why one island has two names. The route from head to tail is about 8

kilometers. It's interesting and beautiful, passing through local houses, old temples, and schools. This island rarely has tourists. Passing through, I felt deeply connected to nature, so I planned to do something to stay here longer. In the afternoon, feeling hungry, I asked the locals by the Mekong River for fish and got one big pla plia fish costing about 100 baht. I asked the locals to fry it for me with just salt, no other seasoning.
Eating it with sticky rice was absolutely delicious. When traveling in Laos, I felt I didn’t get full easily because food is expensive and portions are small. If possible, I try to add some protein. Don Bang is an island where no tourists, not even foreigners, come, so I received a warm welcome. Wherever I parked, people brought me water to drink. If I have the chance, I will definitely visit Don Bang again. For those who love to travel deeply into nature, try the route I took to Li Phi via Don Bang.
Oh, almost forgot, some parts of the road are narrow rice fields. If you are not good at riding motorcycles or are a beginner, it’s better to avoid it. I, mr.hotsia, recommend hotels at Don Khong nearby.
