Motorcycle Ride from Pakxong to Thateng http://www.hotsia.com > Travel Pakse Champasak > Motorcycle Ride from Pakxong to Thateng After spending three nights in Pakxong, before deciding to continue to Sekong, the owner of Simmali guesthouse recommended staying longer with special prices for both accommodation and motorcycle rental. So I stayed two more nights at 200 baht per night and rented a motorcycle for 200 baht per day, which was quite affordable.

I rested fully before riding the motorcycle to visit Thateng and then Nong Luang the next morning. I woke up before dawn, worked on checking emails and Facebook, then set off just after 6 a.m. In mid-December, Pakxong is very cold; my hands went numb while riding. Along the way, I passed several villages where locals built bonfires, filling the village with smoke that looked like fog at first. I was happy at first but then realized it was smoke, haha.
I found a perfect photo spot by the roadside where smoke rose gently from the water, resembling an impressionist oil painting. It was beautiful. Trees grew in the water and smoke floated up. Look at the picture above; it’s not a painting but a photo taken on the way to Thateng. Besides the beautiful views, I also encountered locals offering sticky rice alms. I captured these moments to share with you. mr.hotsia recommends hotels in Pakxong. Video of motorcycle ride from Pakxong to Thateng 15 16 58.254 N, 106 19 54.816 E
