In Pakse, there are many Vietnamese people, so Vietnamese food in Pakse is delicious as well. A genuine Vietnamese pho restaurant will lightly cook the beef so it is not tough to eat. But if it's Lao-style pho made by someone who is not a professional, the beef will be tough and spoil the experience. Also, pho in Laos is quite expensive, about 15,000-20,000 kip per bowl or nearly 80 baht. It's not expensive but you don't get a lot to fill you up, just a little beef. However, this restaurant is different; it gives more beef than other places I've eaten at, more than twice as much.

Since most Thai visitors to Pakse stay at Sang Arun Hotel, this pho restaurant is well known among Thai tourists visiting Pakse. If you want to try this restaurant, just walk across from the hotel and it will be on the right. Mr.Hotsia recommends hotels in downtown Pakse. Here is a clip of pho in Pakse. Pho at Lan Kham restaurant opposite Sang Arun Hotel, next to Lan Kham Hotel where I stayed one night. It's right on the main road. The staff are many and business is good. They add shrimp paste, roasted chili, and lime. Delicious.

Some people looked at me taking photos, not sure if I zoomed in. This is the bowl before seasoning. Pakse morning market, Daoruang market, Pakse coffee unlike any other, free 3G internet in Laos, Pakse southern bus station, nightlife in Pakse, playing tennis in Pakse, New Year travel in Pakse Laos, Nang Saeng Dao noodle soup.
