Project gen story hotsia

Strolling Don Khong before the Boat Race http://www.hotsia.com > Traveling Pakse Champasak > Strolling Don Khong before the Boat Race This is my first story where I included photos tagged with GPS coordinates on the website, allowing you to click and see exactly where I took each photo. This is very convenient if you want to follow my travel route and know the exact location of each picture. The GPS data is very detailed and accurate. I checked and it matches perfectly.

One advantage of having GPS coordinates is that I can collect stories during the day and write them at night. I've been trying to do this for a long time and have achieved over 60% of this method in my recent trips. As I write this story, I am sitting at Don Khong, near my accommodation close to the annual Don Khong boat race event. I hear the atmosphere of the Lao temple fair and write at the same time. The atmosphere is very inspiring and helps me think of many things while writing.

Tomorrow is the Don Khong boat race day, with dozens of long boats from various islands competing. It's a huge event attracting people from all over Laos. People from the four thousand islands gather here. This evening, I walked around to enjoy the event atmosphere and also wandered through the rice fields at Don Khong. The Lao temple fair is similar to Thailand's but without Ferris wheels, barrel rides, or traditional Thai theater. There is only live music and many stalls selling clothes. The most popular food stalls sell grilled chicken and fermented fish.

Fermented fish made from Mekong River fish is sold at dozens of stalls because the Mekong has plenty of fish. They set nets to catch fish for making fermented fish to sell. Comparing Thai and Lao temple fairs, I prefer the Thai ones, maybe because I'm more familiar with them. After walking around the fair, I strolled nearby to watch people bundling rice, preparing to thresh it with machines, unlike the manual threshing I saw in Wiang Haeng, Chiang Mai. After chatting with Lao farmers, I casually took photos of water buffaloes.

Because 3G signal doesn't reach my accommodation at Don Khong, I had free time to take photos, write stories, and stroll around. I like Lao houses; I think they are beautiful traditional wooden houses raised on stilts with carved wooden patterns on the balconies. I walked around looking at houses and temples. I also noticed that Lao people love eating sugarcane. There were many sugarcane stalls at the event selling fresh sugarcane and sugarcane juice. Both children and adults were chewing sugarcane. I also enjoyed sugarcane juice with them.

After wandering to see water buffaloes and houses for a while, I returned to the Mekong riverside, which has a beautiful view, especially in the evening. However, I think the morning is even more beautiful because you can see the sunrise. Tomorrow I plan to wake up early to watch the sunrise, though I'm not sure if I can. Mr.Hotsia recommends hotels at Don Khong nearby. I strolled around the boat race event before the actual race tomorrow.
