It is easy to walk from hotels to catch buses. Muang Xai is centrally located among other provinces.

A popular route is the bus to Vientiane from Muang Xai, costing 130,000/155,000 kip; for a regular bus 110,000 kip. To Luang Namtha 35,000 kip, to Bokeo, Huay Sai opposite Chiang Khong 80,000 kip. Today I am traveling to Phongsaly, ticket price 65,000 kip or 260 baht, on a regular bus without air conditioning or fans.
